The Toshiba Satellite A200-195. I first saw this product on the comet website, as i was looking for my first laptop to use at home and at school, the price looked good for the specification of the laptop.
So what do you get for that price:

A huge 2GB of high performance RAM (667 mhz DDR2)
A decent 120GB hard drive

I would have gone for the Macbook if i had the money, but on a budget this was the best one, it was also one of the best looking one too.
But one thing i don't like about this laptop is the weight. I use this at school (6th Form) and is quite a big lump to carry round. This laptop ... more

The main thing i was looking for was a good battery life. I had a choice of this Toshiba (4 Hours) , an Apple Macbook that cost twice as much (6 Hours), a Sony Vaio almost 3 times as much (10 hours).
I would have gone for the Macbook if i had the money, but on a budget this was the best one, it was also one of the best looking one too.

Next, the speed. This won't break the speed record, but is great for doing daily things like surfing the Internet, but with the 2GB of RAM, it makes a big difference in speed. Vista on its own takes up a little bit more than 600MB of RAM, which leaves you with 1.4GB to do anything you want. If your the person who has several memory hungry programs open, this is perfect for you.
The hard drive. I did say that it has a 120GB storage capacity, but Vista on its own takes up almost 10GB, which still leaves you with around 110GB.
The screen is 15.4" with Brightscreen. You could have this running on 0% brightness for most the time, which helps the battery life greatly. You only need the brightness on in a bright room or when watching a movie.
Now, the software included. You do get the usual DVD playing software which i haven't used yet, you also get a couple of programs that are good for adjusting certain settings like Configfree. I gidn't find much use for some of them so i just removed them. It is not packed with software like Dell which comed preloaded with junk software that you never use.
The WiFi, now one of the most important parts of a laptop and i must say is it excellent, it even comes with a small external switch so you can switch it off to save that precious battery life.
Next, the sound. I tried playing a DVD on the laptop, and the sound was very impressive. It has two speakers next to the screen on opposite ends of the laptop to give the best sound. Not like with most laptops, there is only one and that is inside the computer that gives bad sound quality.
Overall the laptop is excellent value for money but is more of a desktop replacement considering the size. Would recommend to anyone with a budget of around £500 looking for a decent laptop
Advantages: Light, Fast, Looks nice, Reliable, Value. Disadvantages: Doesn't have a built in webcam or Bluetooth connectivity.
...most peoples price range. However Toshiba was the one brand that I had heard nothing but praise for, whether it was their reliability, good value, high build quality and good battery performance. So I carried on researching for about 3 weeks as it was a major purchase for me to go to university with, as my student budget hardly stretches over the necessities as it is. I found myself eliminating a lot of the manufacturers from my comparisons due to ... ...through the specifications on the Toshiba website, which I might add is very easy to compare the differences between their laptops and is really quite helpful, I settled on an A200 series, as the new A210 series is based on AMD's processors and currently Intel's processors (CPU's) are a lot better at power management, thus give a longer battery life. This is the only difference between the A200 and A210 series.
I had settled on one of the A200's, ...

Its been a really great buy. Plus due to my child like small hands I usually have trouble with most keyboards but I do not have this problem with this product.
I found the most impressive feature to this laptop is the Dolby Sound ...

...years and I think then Toshiba is the best laptop in the world.
'''Bold''' I decided bought this product because I know then I don't have to repair in the future and I can also modern this computer (exemple: add memory RAM or change something). I don't like only in this notebook operation system Vista, I think XP is better and faster and don't take too much space in hard disk.

Advantages: Speed, comfortabe, cheap. Disadvantages: No webcam built-in.
The Toshiba brand has always been noted with mass gratitude for solid and robust piece-of-art laptops and particularity, the Satellite Pro A200 is not an odd exception, not a disappointment.
The Satellite Pro offers Intel new processor technology as far as concerned. This advantage gives the user open options for use of softwares and applications compatible with the new technology of duo-core. Still the duo-core processors are robust, at least 1.5GHZ that reach 3.0GHZ (TSP has 1.73GHz Core 2 Duo CPU), with twos HEARTS as the two cores!
The processor is relaxed with the 1GB of 667MHz DDR2 memory (better than DDR1). all though, it's not advised for windows vista.
Vista requires 2GB. It still represents good value for what's in the box.
The Graphical display and the adapters are very satisfying, sometimes luxurious, capable ...
's early Sunday closing time, by the time we had decided on our purchase. Now I shall cut a long story short and explain that many of the laptops on sale in Currys were classed as 'Previously used' As the assistant explained that these may have been returned to the store unopened we thought we would go for one of these. However after many problems over the next couple of days getting our purchase sorted we cancelled the order and decided to buy on-line.
We choose our laptop from Dixons on-line and although t was a slightly different model, it was still a Toshiba. Dixon's was easy to use and competitive and we settled for the A200 at a purchase price of £549.99 including delivery. The order progressed went swimmingly and very soon Hubby was giving me a call at work to say the 'New toy' had arrived.
