(+) cool and quite robust trackpad, good display,64-bit windows 7 (-) few connectors,dell drivers only, not realy for gameing (most models), finger print prone!

Keyboard - The layout is not the normal layout in my experience, so takes a bit of getting used to for those non alpha characters ( for example '\' and 'End' ), but the buttons have a ... .../>
Screen - This is of good visual quality and has good brightness control so its kind on your eyes and the colours are vibrant and crisp also.
Features - It has a good quality DVD Burner installed and i have succesfully burned onto the more stubborn disks even my main PC struggles to burn onto.
The sound is a little tinny, with no apparant bass boosting available, however, listening to music on this laptop should no ... more

Layout - It is very plain, there are no gimmicks to see and everything is where you would expect to find it.
Keyboard - The layout is not the normal layout in my experience, so takes a bit of getting used to for those non alpha characters ( for example '\' and 'End' ), but the buttons have a fairly pleasant feel to them so typing is quite comfortable.
Screen - This is of good visual quality and has good brightness control so its kind on your eyes and the colours are vibrant and crisp also.
Features - It has a good quality DVD Burner installed and i have succesfully burned onto the more stubborn disks even my main PC struggles to burn onto. The sound is a little tinny, with no apparant bass boosting available, however, listening to music on this laptop should no be your primary concern. This laptop is also very quiet, with the internal fan only kicking in on full power every now and again and only in short bursts.
It has Windows Vista Basic preinstalled on it which takes about an hour to configure before you can use it. Of course the down side to using Vista at the moment is the lack of quality products, like Audio and Video codecs, however these will be available before you know it.
A second drawback to using Vista is the amount of memory required to run it. Normally i would recommmend a person have 1GB of Ram to run Windows XP, and Vista is more memory intensive, therefore the 512MB that is installed by default is not enough. Luckily you can purchase memory for this at a very reasonable price from other retailers (www.crucial.co.uk), and at £15+ for another 512MB of ram or £24 for an additional 1GB of ram its well worth doing.
The wireless functionality of this laptop is very easy to use. Just flick the switch on the front and it starts to scan the surroundings for any available networks.
The single biggest selling point this laptop has over other comparatively priced laptops is that this comes with a Dual Core (2 CPU's in one) processor and the majority of others come with a Celeron (1 reduced power CPU)
Overall I would recommend buying this if you are on a tight budget but only if you can afford the £30 max for the memory upgrade.

This Toshiba Satellite was chosen for the great value for money it appeared to offer, with the manufacturer Toshiba you expect a product that you know will deliver solid performance and this is no different. Easily picked up for just a few hundred pounds it comes equiped with everything you would expect from a top manufacturer, a high quality graphics card which makes it capable of playing many of todays higher end game. Built in ... ...easy and is easily as good as the sort of laptop that many people would pay hundreds of pounds for just for a few extra numbers in the product information whereas the change in performance can rarely be seen. Overall a solid laptop that will go for years before needing replaced or fixed, never had any problems and whilst unspectacular does all that can be asked of it. Highly recommended to anyone who wants a laptop either as another computer around ...
