Toshiba Satellite P200-155

This is an excellent laptop and great value for money. It comes with everything you need for all but the most serious gamers. However, my son cannot be ripped away from this computer with his array of games that all play well, so only look elsewhere if you want to play the most demanding games.

I particularly like the large 17 inch screen which has excellent clarity, even in bright light and the modern and professional look and feel that Toshiba seemed to have grasped when designing this baby. It is also surprisingly portable for a desktop replacement and actually weighs the same as many 15.4 inch laptops on the market and is very comfortable to use on your lap. The speakers are also fine for every day use, whilst the built in web cam and bluetooth capabilities are real bonuses. I also like the fact that the fans and heat ducts on the side rather than underneath allowing for air flow even when resting on your lap.

The only slight disadvantage is the outside top is prone to scratching and marking, even in a purpose built carrying case. I have overcome this by placing it into the case upside down protecting the glossy top from other items so often placed into the separate sleeves such as power lead, disks and cables.

Microsoft Vista is a real step in the right direction and adds versatility and performance to this already great package.

It is worth shopping around for this though as you can get it for £699 incl VAT from www.laptopsdirect.co.uk, which is significantly cheaper than many search engines will find.

I shopped around and did months of research before choosing this Toshiba, and after a month of extensive use am delighted with my choice.

I would not hesitate in recommending the Toshiba P200-155 to anyone from home user, student, gamer through to high performing business person.
