The most impressive feature of this laptop is that it has so many features! I sincerely cannot think of anything else I would need to have extra, except maybe for more RAM memory, not because I need it, but possibly because it is the only upgrade you can get for it!
What do get for your money then?
Well a 15 inch screen for starters - the larger the screen the better the quality and the less you'll strain your eyes.
In addition, and this is were you need to take a deep breath, the laptop packs in: a 40 Gigabyte hard-disk, 256 Megabytes RAM, a powerful Pentium 4 1.7Gigahertz processor, an integrated CD rewriter and DVD player, speakers, modem, built-in Bluetooth device, built-in wireless WI-FI transmitter/receiver, a regular network (LAN) connection, an infrared port, two PCMCIA slots, a TV-out connector, external keyboard/mouse socket, external monitor socket, 2 USB ports (USB 1.0), a parallel printer port and, finally, a serial port. I almost forgot, the machine also comes with an external USB floppy drive.
Like I said what else could they have put in?
The two little gripes I would have is that, possibly do its complexity, the battery life is not that great. At full speed you can probably get just over an hour of use from a fully re-charged battery. But to give them credit you can switch off some of the devices, such as the wi-fi, if you wish to conserve battery life.
And the integrated 'mouse' can be awkward to use - so an external mouse is a must, especially, if like me, you are surgically attached to computers all day long!
The standard warranty from Toshiba is 1 year, so an upgrade to 3 or even 5 years is highly recommended as laptops are otoriously expensive to repair otherwise. Not that I expect anything to happen to mine - it's too well built for that, but it's better to be safe than sorry isn't it?
The battery issue is the reason why I have not awarded this product five stars, but despite this I cannot recommended highly enough.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
(+) cool and quite robust trackpad, good display,64-bit windows 7 (-) few connectors, dell drivers only, not realy for gameing (most models), finger print prone!
Good op & welcome to Ciao! Yeh that battery life is pretty poor - sounds good otherwise. Cheers, Jaxle

Don't be disheartened by the ratings now will you? We all started off the same way. Have a look at some other opinions and you'll see the sort of writing which gets the higher ratings. Let me know if I can help in any way! Sue.
