Toshiba Satellite Pro A100

I have had this computer for about a year now, i bought it to take to uni with me. I have found it has a tendency to be very slow, i do not seem to have as much memry as it claimed to have when i bought it. i was supposed to have 256, but only seems to have 190. i dont know if this is a problem with what the computer is registering, or whether it is a problem many of this make have. It takes a very long time to start up, but when it gets there it is a good laptop, it eventually speeds up if you leave it for a while to sort itself out. it is a widescreen, which is goo for watching films. I have had this laptop for 4 months now. I bought it as a budget laptop to use mainly for the internet and word processing. It was very easy to set up and I did not have any problems getting onto the internet via broadband. It boots up quickly and has not had 'the blue screen of death' once. I now have Itunes on here too and the sound that it produces is good enough for personal listening. I have tranferred files from various sources, bluetooth, USB, CD and DVD Rom without any problems.
