(+) cool and quite robust trackpad, good display,64-bit windows 7 (-) few connectors,dell drivers only, not realy for gameing (most models), finger print prone!

...also suffers from the standard toshiba problem of the mouse pointer occasionally having a mind of its own.
Generally though, this is an excellent machine. It takes pretty much anything you can throw at it and keeps on running. You can always get frivers for it. Networking works wonderfully and I have never had any problems with PCMCIA devices. The only better machines I have used are Thinkpads, but they are so ugly that I have (and will) always ...

I purchased a used Toshiba Tecra 8000 in a PC magazine about four years ago, and to this day, it continues to work great. It cost about $400, and I think it was worth it.
I needed to only upgrade the battery since it wouldn't hold a charge, but other than that, the laptop works great! I installed Windows 98 on the system, and it works great for multimedia like Flash, movies (MPEG, AVI), and high quality graphics.
When I reinstalled Windows on it, ... ...website to give me higher screen resolutions. The installation was simple, and it worked great.
The RAM in the laptop is pretty good, but it would slow down the operating system from time to time. If I ran a program, it would take forever to load, but a memory allocator program worked to correct it.
This laptop is not heavy and is relatively good in size and shape. I recommend this for someone looking for a good, working laptop for a good price. ...
