...I recently started a new job and was provided with a very smart looking ToshibaTecraA8 laptop. I was pleasently surprised with the choice work had made. Toshiba laptops have a history of quality laptops and this is no different. The A8 comes with a CoreDuo processor with each processor clocking in at 1.66 GHz, providing in total over 3.2GHz, this along with 512 MB RAM +128 MB RAM Intel onboard graphics. Also included is a CD Re-Writer and DVD drive (allowing me to watch DVD's while traveling between various sites).
The only major problems I have had with the system is that the system was unstable when first installed, however, the Toshiba Support Website has a BIOS update that corrects the problem and allows you to get the maximum performance out.
I would seriously consider buying this model (If work hadn't provided)....

Advantages: Very Durable Disadvantages: Processor a little small
...A laptop that is hugely durable, i have taken it on many business trips, and it has survived in my luggage bags with merely a few scrapes on the outer casing, would definitely recommend this to a user that travels alot. I find that the battery lasts for around 1 hour and 45 mins but don't keep it in the charger all the time because i have noticed that it does shorten the battery life. The laptop is very user friendly, with easy access for any maintenance or improvements such as increasing RAM etc, also wifi has quite a good pickup range. I find that this laptop is best used for word processing etc and it weaknesses is dealing with multimedia applications such as photoshop, dream weaver etc, the processor just cant seem to handle programs like these., other than that it is a good all round laptop and ideal price for students....

...I bought this laptop the begging of this year. I not sure what I can really say about this machine. Its simple to use. I have had no problems with it.
When I bought it I had the option to purchase the Vista upgrade discs, I only installed this a few months ago, the process was simply and easy to do.
The laptop, has a good crisp screen, it has a standard keyboard, with a touch screen mouse pad, although I use a standard USB mouse.
On the front are various lights to show when the wireless network is enabled, when the batytery is on charge, and when the hard disc is in use.
It has a volume control knobb on the front, with head phones and microphone sockets.
The battery lasts for quite a few hours although I mainly use mine plugged into the mains.
A very good and at the time was priced well, Toshiba has a good support website...
