I have been a member since way back in 1999 when the company first started, and have been using their local rate access practically ever since.
Totalise made a brief entry into the unmetered market in 2000 with a package in which you paid up front called "The Ultimate Surf". However, ... ...risk the service to everyone, Totalise promptly refunded the cash to everyone that had paid, and started work on a new unmetered service.
I have been on Totalise's new unmetered for about three months, and I have to say it's everything they said it would be.
Of particular interest are the connect speeds - Totalise realise that people are interested in the quality of service and as a result the connect speeds I get are much better than those my ...

So Totalise is to launch itself into the unmetered 24/7 market !! Well perhaps I should rephrase that as relaunch itself, for last year in August they rolled out 'The Ultimate Surf' their attempt at conquering the market but by January they were hastily rolling it back in again and creating a lot of bad feeling. Now before you jump to any conclusions I'm not one of those obsessive Totalise knockers, but neither am I a Totalise 'hugger' either - I ... ...My first steps with Totalise were as my email address and as my ISP on an occasional basis (I was one of the Callnet 0800 brigade at first, until their free service died a death). Well I was lucky (or so I thought) in that at just the time that Callnet was calling it quits Totalise was launching The Ultimate Surf - pay up front, free shares and unmetered connection for 2 years - who could want more ? I started off with totalise using it as my ISP and still use their webmail. However recently their shares were suspended and the company has ceased trading. I understand that the company founder has bought the Totalise brand from the receiver and is now operating Totalise through his new company SPANS. I received a few totalise shares as I fell within their criteria but as time went on I found I could not use their dial up as I could not surf through ... ...as they were going to give me shares as a pay back for using the card. Did I receive any? No! And now if I did they would be worthless.
Although I thought the original idea a good one it has not stood the test of time as maybe, the market forces turned against it. ...
