My first order consisted of...

4 wraps ~ or waterproof pants, these come in so many different types, colours, sorts whatever but they all do the same job

There are plenty of different sorts of nappies out there to confuse you, in a nutshell you have...
aio's ~ these stand for all in ones nappies, just like a disposable but washable these are very good if you have a baby in nursery etc as they are the easiest but they take much longer to dry than most
shaped nappies ~ tots bots belong to this family and come in 3 sizes, size 1 is around 6 - 20lb, size 2 is around 18 - 35lb and size 3 is 35+. Shaped nappies normally come either applix fastening (which to you and me is velcro lol) non applix which is hey! no velcro lol and instead you use what is called as a nippa grippa, this is instead of a nappy pin and it has "teeth" that grip the nappy, very easy to use, or you get some with a press stud fastening... you can normally get these nappies as unbleached, white or pastel colours
one size nappies ~ these are just like there named, one size, they normally fold down for a newborn and last through to potty training, you would imagine these to be very bulky on a small baby if they are going to be lasting through to toddlerdom but thats not the case and with nappies like the motherease one size you would be surprised how absorbant something so thin could be!
Average prices vary, for your normal nappies they are around £5-£6 per nappy ~ for your all in ones they are around £8 per nappy, which does sound a lot when your adding it all up but in the long run it really does work out cheaper, if you added up how much you spent on disposables, say £5 per packet, 1 a week for 2-3 years ~ EEK! and where do those nappies go? hmm. Plus there is the added bonus of all nappies lasting at least 2 children so if you buy them with your first born and want more than one you save quite a bit, if not the resale value on all cloth nappies is also very good
Although there are others these are your most popular types of nappy, the ones I have myself are motherease one size and of course tots bots, I have the tots non applix so I use a nippa grippa on my son and I think they are the easiest things ever once you get used to them... they are so very soft and fluffy and must be so very comfortable as my little boy although only 13 months old will just not wear a disposable any more and gets terrible nappy rash whenever he does (which is rare and only when I forget to put the washer on lol)
When contemplating cloth nappies I was met with many a comment from many people like....
Why on earth are you using those when disposables are so easy??
Well yes disposables are easy, there also uncomfortable and scratchy and have you seen the day after tomorrow? this is our bit to save the ozone ;o)
Oh he won't like sitting in a wet nappy, at least disposables leave him feeling dry!?!
Not true, if anything my sons botty is dryer when I change his nappy from a cloth than it ever was when changing from a disposable
Think of all that extra work your making for yourself!
Ok, the only bit of extra work I had was when my little boy was still being breastfed and he had explosive poo! It wasn't nice having to clean it all off the liners before putting them in the wash so I made a slight alteration and used paper biodegradable liners at the times I knew he was regular, then flushed that away and put the wet nappy straight in the bucket waiting for the wash, no extra work at all apart from an extra washload every other day and most of the nappies are able to go in the dryer!
So why out of all of these nappies did I choose tots bots? Well they are the cutest lol, I'm sure everybodies seen the fairy liquid baby on the bottle, these are the fairy liquid nappies lol. They are super dooper absorbant, my little one can pee for england and he remains dry in these nappies even at night, they are excellent for containment ~ no leaks! and don't leave any nasty red marks on legs or tummys, they wash really really well and are still lovely and white, they wash at 60 degrees and tumble dry on high, the only downside I can see to these nappies is the bulk and that isn't too say these nappies are massive lol they are not, its just clothes makers haven't caught on yet and therefore you need big waisted trousers to go over a tots bots bum! Or you could do what I do and put them in dungarees!
I first bought my set of 10 tots bots nappies when my son was 3 months old and we haven't looked back, my husband took some convincing at first he really did think that it would mean so much more work when in reality that isn't the case at all, and he is converted too :o)
Advantages: Saves loads of money, beter for your babies bums Disadvantages: Bit more washing to do
...of the other reviews on Tots Bots I felt I had to write my own about my experience purchasing these great nappies and how we get on with them!!
I feel it is important to have the information about not just the nappies themselves but also the kind of service that you receive when purchasing them, my review is more about this than the actual product.
So here goes, it all started when we found out that I was expecting twins and my partner went on ... ...And the result was that Tots Bots were the latest trend and they not only looked cute but were very great to use! He tried to get me interested in them but I just couldn't look past the "ohh my god i'm having twins so that is double the work load".
Not to be detered he just kept talking about how great they were and how much money they would save us!!
All I kept thinking about was "extra washing and drying"!!
Then last year we went to the Baby ...

...do require a wrap, and Tots Bots make their own brand. The Tots wrap is a polyurethane coated breatheable ployester aplix fastening wrap, with plenty of room for a huge Tots Bots as you would expect, or any other cloth fitted nappy or prefold you might wish to use it with. SO I sold my tots on and bought some Nappy Nation No Fold terries instead.
The wraps are excellent value for money as you can use them over any fitted nappy. I do prefer my Cotton Bottoms Superwhisper wraps, but that is just a personal preference ove the feel of the fabric. My all time favourite night wrap has to be the fleece Red Wrap though, sheer durability, fit, and performance wise, it wins hands down. As the PUL day wraps do not have to ...

Advantages: Great for baby and the environment, come in a nice range of materials and colours Disadvantages: Expensive initial outlay, can be hard to get, some take long to dry
Tots Bots were the first reusable nappy that i tried. After researching for months i took the plunge and bought 3 fluffles, a rainbow bamboozle, a fleece wrap and a PUL wrap. I tried these out on my little lady for a few weeks. By the time my son was born a couple of months later i was well and truly an addict. I now own loads and loads of different brands of nappies in different shapes and styles so be sure that I am experienced in using cloth.
... ...recently they have introduced dolly tots (cute nappies for dollies), bamboo towels and face cloths.
I want to know more about the nappies?
All nappies are gently elasticated to give a snug fit. This is especially good in the event of explosive poos. All nappies, except fluffles also feature an attached flapout booster for more absorbancy and for faster drying. Fluffles feature a booster but it snaps in with poppers.

...me.
I bought my tots bots off a very nice person in Denmark who wanted them to go to a new home for not a lot of money so home with me they came!
Right now to the nappies. Tots bots come in several different versions and sizes.
Size 1 is a newborn nappy up to about 18lbs ish
Size 2 is for the 18lbs - 35lbs although these can be used as a birth to potty nappy (see futher down the page)
Size 3 is 35lbs up not sure what the upper limit to these ... ...wrap to keep baby dry, tots bots do their own wraps but others are avalible, I'm using motherease air rikka wraps and these are fine over my tots bots.
These nappies retail at about £6-8 and can be bought at various shops on the web including tots bots own web site. But as I said earlier I got mine second hand off a web site called thenappylady. I got my whole set 13 nappies, boosters, wraps, liners, mesh bag and a wet bag for £59, which was a bargin ...

Advantages: absorbant, cute Disadvantages: washable nappies are addictive!
...so my love affair with Tots Bots began! So what is a Tots Bots? Basically, it is several layers of terry cotton stitched together to form a nappy shape. It has a long booster inside it – like a long flap of extra material. This booster can then be folded to provide extra absorbency where you need it – at the front for a boy or in the middle for a girl. Having the extra material as a booster instead of incorporating it in the nappy helps ... ...any excess moisture to evaporate. Tots Bots do make their own PUL and fleece wraps, but other wraps work perfectly well.
Tots Bots are available in 3 sizes. Size 1 fits from 6-18 pounds, size 2 from 18-40 pounds and size 3 from 35 pounds upwards. However, sizing is approximate and depends on the shape of your baby – my chunky boy didn’t last in the size 1 for long! Also, to save money, the size 2 can be folded down to fit a smaller baby.

Advantages: Cheap, OK Disadvantages: Fiddly, mystery ingredients, can tear
I have tried several different types of disposable nappy liners in our son's TotsBots Bamboozle nappies. I have also used folded pieces of muslin, which are more absorbent so also work as a bit of a booster pad to keep your baby dryer for slightly longer.
These are definitely some of the cheapest liners around, and they are reasonably robust. They're made of some kind of stuff that makes them feel like halfway between paper and material. However, I have 3 problems with them: their size, their tendency to tear and the fact that no-one at Boots seems to be able to tell me what they're actually made of! On size, they are about 10 inches by 12.5 inches. This is FAR bigger than any baby's bottom I'm aware of, so we used to use them folded. They didn't seem to be working very well, so I checked the instructions, and it turns out ...
Advantages: good for traveling out and about for tripples and twins or siblings Disadvantages: you have to store the other sizes witch can be a problem is small houses
I brought a birth to potty pack and it was on offer at boots in Tombridge Wells KENT I was expexting my 3 child and still useing mother easy one size on my daughter who was one at the time I found them great vaule and i got in the pack 6 wraps of each size all the nappies and a messy bag and bucket and wipes that were washable as well as nappy wash and liners the down size for me was the storring of all the nappys as I have three other types totsbots mothereasy and cussys I uses the cotten bottoms wraps with my totsbots and I have even used a small pre fold nappy for a booster in my 2year old nappy I find them convenot for long days out as you lay them flat in your bag and get both childrens nappys in one bag with easy there easy to dry and are quicker than the other nappys ...
Advantages: Adjustable, very effective, wash well, easy to use Disadvantages: Have a slightly odd "bloused" look to them when on
We started using the TotsBots wraps that came with the TotsBots Bamboozles nappies we bought. They come in 4 sizes, with the small ones fitting babies from birth and the largest fitting babies more than 35lbs. We used the smaller ones without a huge amount of trouble, but as soon as our son realised that velcro makes a brilliant sound as it opens, these wraps became about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Very frustrating! So, we have tried other brands, and these are the best ones we've found.
How do you use them?
They are designed to be used over shaped nappies (like the TotsBots Bamboozles we use). They fasten with poppers rather than velcro, which has worked much better for us, and changes are definitely faster. The poppers are very adjustable, with a choice of 2 poppers at the waist and 3 at the leg for maximum ...
