Great to be back on board
Advantages: Looks, Sounds great, low centre of Gravity, Headturner, pretty cheap to buy and run Disadvantages: Small fuel capacity, lots of Chrome cleaner needed, Not very quick (but that suits me)
I have recently acquired a 1989 Virago 535, yes 20 yeras old and its fab, it needs a bit of work on the paint which is going to be carried out during the winter months.
From the outset I loved it, its not super rapid and as its a bit old I dont push it too hard, it sounds great, and can still turn heads when cruising through villages in Northern France. It is okay with a pillion, and the handling gives the rider a feeling of confidence with its ... ...my leg over and being able to control stability when stationary is important and achieved comfortably.
I have not yet used it enough for the fuel tank capacity to be an issue as yet, but I will have to learn to live with it when my trips go further a field.
All in all after being off bikes for circa 20 years I am delighted with buying this 20 year old machine which sounds and looks great, I feel I have missed out on something, but it is fair to ...

XJ 900 Diversion 1995
Advantages: Genuine all round bike, fun to ride, easy to live with, cheap to run, reliable, good tourer Disadvantages: Might be a little boring for some of you? Very tall seat.
...motorcycle complete with the official Yamaha Diversion Hard Panniers and a medium sized Shad top box (Big enough for a full faced helmet and a bit more). The bike is not quite standard in that apart from the luggage it has a taller smoked screen fitted (which is nice because I am tall). So on to the ride, I find the bike light to ride and fairly nimble the engine is nice and responsive with a decent amount of torque and that lovely smooth shaft drive. ... ...ownership, Suzuki GS1100L, Honda CBR1000F, Yamaha XJ600N, Suzuki GSX 1100G, Kawasaki ZZR1100D and Honda CB 1300 X4. You may be able to tell that I like a physically large and powerful bike. The 900 Diversion is not powerful enough to be sporty or scary, it is however plenty powerful enough to cruise at 90mph comfortably and whiz you along the twisty roads with a smile on your face. If feels solid and well planted as long as you aren't trying to be ...

Yamaha XJ900 Diversion
Advantages: Very reliable workhorse, Good looking, Nice ride. Disadvantages: Can suffer from the usual rust demise.
...and it`s had a new Yamaha battery for £35 again from the dealer. I`ve had the bike for 5 years now so I really can`t complain. I love the bike and don`t intend getting rid of it just yet, however, things are beginning to show their age, the centre stand has rotted and so I don`t use that in case it collapses and the paintwork on the swingarm/shaft cover needs to be removed and resprayed, (I don`t fancy removing that because of the special tools required) ...

BLACK RIDER
Advantages: More or less everything Disadvantages: almost nothing
...fast. Oh yes, I drive Yamaha XV Virago SE 750, was built this in 1981 and one more a lot of quality has. I bought the motorbike used with approx. 20,000 kms on the speedometer, it has cost with 8,900 DM.
Of course I was also afraid that it is a clutch{handle} in the empty bag, but it should itself differently{else} rausstellen in which one has a lot of influence, however, also than owner.
But what is Yamaha, actually, for a motorbike? I must say ... ...driving feeling the best.
*** Driving behavior ***
The driving behavior is of course most important in such a motorbike, because like one knows one is on the move only on 2 wheels{bicycles}. What I can still say in addition, actually, except the small{little} peculiarity ne the Virago has. If one in one circles one goes, has the feeling{emotion}, the rear{back} wheel{bicycle} presses outwardly away what is, however, even a feeling{an emotion}. ...
