Highly recommended
Advantages: Reliable, great motorway cruiser, refined, great interior Disadvantages: Dull styling, rear suspension not that great for towing
...this is a definite plus. Toyota reliability does also not disappoint. Had absolutely no problems yet after 2 years of use with 63k miles on the clock just the usual servicing. Usually what lets these cars down though is the interior which normally feels very shoddy. Not so with the Avensis. It feels like they have taken pointers from their parent company Lexus. The plastics feel solid. Usually after 1-2 years your start to hear these annoying little ... ...day I got it. The T-Spirit also comes with all the extras you would expect from a higher spec model, leather seats, sat nav (not that great but okay), automatic wipers (can have a mind of their own sometimes) etc. The estate version is very roomy and easily accommodates 4 large adults. The boot is also large enough to accommodate most objects.
Bad points:
Style! While this car definitely looks more stylish from the car it replaces and the interior ...

Avensis for Fleet and family
Advantages: Spacious , comfortable and quiet. Disadvantages: no steering column adjustment
in a market full of similarity this car looks and drives as well as the distinguished marques. It serves as a Family car giving ease of access and parking, low cabin noise ( except for the kids), good feul economy, ample boot space and a wide array of extras for safety and comfort, but it also doubles as a company car that even the boss likes. The appearance is refined and the drive is un-fussy, the standard accessories on this model are well thought ...

Legendary Toyota Avensis!
Advantages: Faultless reliability, comfort, refinement, near silence. Disadvantages: Dated interior
...I had had my first Toyota 3 years ago, a Celica, and could not believe how together a 150000 mile car could feel. I needed a five door family car, so my first stop was to test drive a Vectra. With banger money, I was disappointed with the sheer amount of rust that these models had! Then I thought, why no try a British built Avensis. It had more room than the vectra, was quieter and according to the trade books, more economical and of course it had ... ...was impressed apart from the super lumpy ride. WELL, i looked at one, had a quick test drive......rattle free, super quiet and although it had done 98000 miles, it felt really 'tight' much more so than the nearly new, electrical gremlin, passats that I had had previously. My only gripe is the 80s style dash that makes a marked contrast to the vws out there. Any way, I have today just sold it to an Irish taxi driver from Dublin in 5 minutes, no mucking ...

Toyota Avensis T4 Spirit Auto 1.8 saloon
Advantages: Great value for money, reliable, looks good, very safe car, loads of gizmos Disadvantages: no rear wash/wipe, no MP3 dock, not brill on MPG, expensive parts
...getting old and unreliable. The Toyota was the only other car I found with a such a big boot. I can get a big pushchair, a pile of random junk, a week's shopping and baby paraphernalia in it with no problem.
I think it looks great - though the boot does stick out. It is one of the safest cars on the market - it got top marks for in-car passenger and driver safety according to Which (5 stars), though only slightly below average marks for pedestrian ... ...airbags - I don't even know where they all are but it makes me feel safe with my children in the back.
It has ABS, assisted braking, vehicle stability control and traction control, three three point seat belts in the back and headrests for all 5 passengers. It is comfortable and roomy in the back with space for three adults. Certainly two adults can travel in genuine comfort and pull down the centre armrest thing with drinks holder in it if they ...

Today, Tomorrow, Toyota
Advantages: TR model has good specification, good fuel consumption Disadvantages: Some may find styling a little dull
I have owned my Toyota Avensis TR 2.2 D-4D for just over one year now and have covered around 25000 miles, having purchased an ex demonstrator model on an 08 plate in Nov 08 with just over 1500 miles on the clock. I commute quite a distance to work and use my car for business trips around twice a month and so my driving is mostly motorway or fast A road/dual carriage way driving, with little heavy town driving in my normal routine. When shopping ... ...Servicing and Reliability - the Toyota warranty requires that the car has a full service every 20000 miles and an oil and filter change every 10000 miles. As I had actually done 10000 miles 3 months after acquiring the car last year, then servicing costs were a concern to me. My local dealer does offer interest free payment options for signing into a three year servicing option, which includes a 10% saving off the list price, although this was not ...
