Landcruiser's Live Up To Their Name
Advantages: Good Solid Well Built Truck Disadvantages: Heavy around town
I have recentley traded in a mitsubushi Padjaro aganst one of these fine vehicles called a landcruiser, and now i understand how it got it's name, it is by far the best 4X4 i have ever driven and dose just about everything you want from a 4x4.
The Padjaro was a super truck with great looks, but i would say that the cruiser is 30% better all round, not for looks but the actual ride is far smoother and the diesal engine is 50% quieter, everything is ... ...auto version with overdrive, the gear box is extremley smooth and keeps the engine at very low rev's when cruising, this keeping the vehicle very economical, it also features a power up button called ect power with gives the engine a power boost which is excellent off road, the interia finish is first class and the seating is very comfortable.
Body work on these trucks is also excellent with all panels fitting in line and rust protection is standard, ...

...better than this one too.The Toyota Land Cruiser is a series of four-wheel drive vehicles produced by the Japanese car maker Toyota Motor Corporation. Design of the Land Cruiser began in 1951 as Toyota's version of a Jeep-like vehicle and production began in 1954. Not A Car But Great
Advantages: 4WD, size, Disadvantages: price, fuel economy,
...off-topic because I own the Toyota Land Cruiser Limited Edition Wagon Diesel.
So, I live in the deep outback here in Oz and as you probably know, it is isolated (really!) I need a vehicle that is reliable, strong and relatively cheap to run.
Toyota is a popular brand in Australia and so that was the first place I looked. I drove my very old Jeep down to the Toyota store in Melbourne (5 hours drive.)
I look around and liked the look of the Toyota ... ...my Toyota as an investment but also a necessity.
Options
- Bulls bars (illegal in parts of Australia to save roos)
- Air Conditioning (in almost all Australian versions)
So, the final verdict has to be; it is a great car that people all over the world love. ...

Japan 2 England 1
Advantages: Build quality / Good dealers / Load space / holds its price Disadvantages: Not cheap. Would like 8 proper seat belts
...3 years old from a Toyota main dealer. The latest models seem very little changed (better audio etc.)
I had finally lost patience with my Range Rover Classic (3.9 V8) J-plate which was (a)impossible to keep out of the repair shop for more than a few weeks at a time
(b) risking my ability to maintain my AA membership !
(c) costing a fortune at 14mpg (yes - fourteen!)
The Colorado immediately struck me as very solidly built, and all the surveys ... ...dealers (which is just as important) are top class. So far - they are right.
EXPERIENCE TO DATE
Mechanically the Colorado seems very solid. The only failure so far has been the battery, and that can happen to anyone. The replacement cost £59 via the AA.
It is not quite as quiet as the V8 Range Rover - particularly under hard acceleration, but that's what you should expect from a big V6.
The fuel consumption sounds mediocre at best - but is about ...

Is this the future of motoring?
Advantages: Running costs, low emissions, features, reliable Disadvantages: Fuel consumption could be better
...too.
HISTORY OF THE TOYOTA PRIUS
Work started in 1994 & the original Prius was introduced in 1997 & two years later in the UK. It was years ahead of its time & due to the enormous cost of producing the special battery that powers the car, Toyota subsidised the cost to allow the public to buy the car at an affordable price.
It never sold in great numbers, however when the second version was introduced (and the subject of this review) with many ... ...a couple of years after Toyota but never had the same success, now many other car makers are developing their versions so hybrids will become more popular.
Are they the answer to our problems? Are these cars any good in the real world?
THE TOYOTA PRIUS
I was fortunate enough to drive two separate models in different circumstances over the period of three days a couple of months ago. One was driven around a city for two days & one on a longer journey ...
