Imported Previa's Estima Lucida
Advantages: diesel Disadvantages: morre regular servicing
...would have crumpled but the Toyota build quality has just left a few large dents.
I would certainly consider buying another or even the petrol Previa. There are now many reasonably priced examples on the market. ebay they range from around £1000 for K reg. Autotrader and locally you can pay anything up to £6000 for R reg. Generally they seem to be a little cheaper than the Previa. The only difference is the rerliability and durability of the diesel ... ...the internet. I would avoid Toyota main dealers as some are not aware of the service requirements and will charge Toyota prices for genuine parts. I've been told Lucidas are heavy on starter motors. Mine failed after about 2 years use (although it well have been the original). The local garage could only source from Toyota who wanted £500. The local recondition centre wanted £180. Finally, I got one from ebay which cost £41.65 including next day ...

One of the most economical MPV's
Advantages: Economy, massive space Disadvantages: Gutless
The Previa T2 is a perfect family car. No kid would be ashamed of you as you pulled up outside school with it. We comfortably fit six children in back with ample space for hand-luggage, picnic hamper, drinks containers etc. and thats before we start loading the boot.
The boot is huge for a people carrier. Large cases can lie down flat and pile up high and with a family our size, believe me, thats a must.
The air-conditioning is a great boon, providing ... ...more "Are we nearly there yet?", more like, "Are we there already?"
This is a work horse of vehicles. With a small diesel engine, it is vastly under-exciting but who cares when we can get 35mpg on a long journey.
And talking of long journeys, nothing beats the standard CD player for keeping the children quiet.
Its a pleasure to drive, but don't try taking corners too fast, its feels everso top-heavy. ...

Once you've had one there is no going back
Advantages: extremeley comfortable driving experience Disadvantages: getting into the very back row of seats
The beauty of this car is it's amazingly comfortable driving position. It's like driving in an arm chair. Although it's not super quick at 0 - 60 mph, once cruising it does it almost too effortlessly. It has fantastic room in the back for 5 passengers with good leg room and visibility.
The boot space with all the seats down is ample, but with the back seats up it's fanatstic and allows great spontaneous shopping to take place! The other great feature ... ...do not physically need moving (and therefore storing) out of the car. The front two captain seats swivel right round for socialbility when stationery and recline for the kids to sleep in whilst on- the -road.
The cup holders in the back ensure the little darlings don't spill blackcurrant juice everywhere. We had cup holders put in the front for us so we didn't spill ours!
Visibility for driving and passengers is great. You can see over the hedges. ...

♠ Just a Fecund ♠
Advantages: Big boot, lots of space, lots of comfort. Disadvantages: Lack of grip in cold weather, lack of ummmph when overtaking.
♦ Introduction ♦
This review is based on my experience of owning and driving the T Spirit Previa, an MPV suitable for the fecund of society (i.e. those who have copious numbers of kids or passengers to transport). Despite its enormity and bus like vital statistics, the Spirit is reasonably car like to drive, although parking is another matter. This review may be of interest to those considering purchasing a large multi purpose vehicle ... ...perspective. Just go and watch Top Gear if you want that. This model is no longer available to purchase new but used models are.
♦ Choosing the Previa ♦ When replacing our previous MPV, a Galaxy with 7 seats and no boot space, we looked at all suitable options with greater luggage space. Even with one seat removed, the Galaxy was a nightmare when it came to loading holiday luggage. We needed a car with a cavernous boot. The Previa fit ...

Previa 2.4GS Auto
Advantages: * passengers, lots of load space, Luxury and comfort Disadvantages: only one rear access side door, engine mounted under passenger seat
I have 6 children all of school age, so when looking around for a people carrier my choices were limited as most only carry 5/6 passengers.
luckily enough the Previa can carry 7 passengers.
As well as the children I have need of a vehicle which can serve different purposes, such carrying junk to the tip, moving large objects etc.
This car is first and foremost a real Multi Purpose Vehicle, it will seat 7 passengers + driver in real comfort (driver+passenger ... ...3 passengers on the rear bench seats), this also leaves quite a bit of room for any luggage as well.
The loadspace inside the car when its not full of people is also very good, the rear bench seats fold up to the side to give more room than the average estate car, and if this space isnt enough the middle bench seats will fold flat.
My wife is only qualified to drive automatics, so this really was the only vehicle for us, as the passenger/load capacity ...
