I bought this car in August, and I'm very glad I chose it. I was looking for something that looked sporty with lively performance for around £6k. There aren't that many coupes around that satisfy that brief, but I liked the look of the Celica's exterior, and fell in love with the sports seats and the engine noise. The 140bhp 1.8 litre engine doesn't have a lot of pull low down the rev range, and needs working hard to really push on, but the car feels so composed at speed and handles so well that the warm acceleration doesn't matter. The road holding is exceptional for a front wheel drive chassis, and the car is perfectly balanced on country roads. Boot space is reasonable, but headroom in the rear is poor and is only suitable for those under 5'6".
The fuel consumption is reasonable with the 6 speed gearbox, so it's a fun car that's surprisingly practical to own.
