Advantages: clear and tells you whats it about Disadvantages: There are better land cruisers out there
The car has everything available and would give this a good review. Ive owned this car myself it gave me no problems at all. The car is very reliable. The only downside is the amount of petrol it kills. i wouldnt agree that this is the best landcruiser, as the land rovers have always been the best and i dont think nothing has come near it. Advantages: Industry leading reliability and build quality, versatile, comfortable. Disadvantages: Parking can be an issue, fuel usage is high if you push this car.
I believe that the ToyotaLandCruiser Amazon is one of the Japanese firm's greatest achievements and really presents itself with many excellent features from their vast array of technology and high quality parts. As it is their top of the range 4x4, a serious amount of time and effort has gone in to designing a large but road friendly vehicle that will adapt well to the requirements of many people. Even though this car has been in production for a good few years now, it is in my mind the top all round 4x4 on the market for the various reasons I will try to explain below.
I think the first point that I must focus on in general is the incredible build quality and design of this vehicle. I part-own a T registration 4.2TD Amazon, now with 75,000 miles on the clock and have never needed to have anything other than routine services ...

If you have the money to spare and are looking for a car that has Looks - Style - Comfort - Reliability and a real name that's had a good following over the years, I would highly recommend the Land rover Discovery.
The biggest asset at the moment is that the price throughout the range has been reduced dramatically due to the recent changes in importation and dealership, and if you shop around you really can pick up an excellent deal, Even Secondhand.
With the TD5 ( Turbo Diesel ), you get real quality even with the earlier models. The only drawback with the earlier ones is that the ride tends to be a bit bumpy, but having said that the early models are more economical to run in general averaging 30 - 35 MPG.
The more recent models ( I.E 1997 Onward ) usually run at around 25 - 30 MPG, But obviously they are much more luxurious ...
