Advantages: Great looks, fast car, amazing handling and cheap to purchase Disadvantages: common t-bar seals leaking but these can be replaced

Not only did it look like a baby Ferrari with its gleamiong red paintwork, pop up lights and twin exhasut system, it performed like one aswell!
Not so common on the roads now you can't help notice people turning there heads for a look and ... ...had the car serviced at Toyota by very helpful staff. I have only replaced the engine struts underneath the engine and purchased some nice black and red rim 17" alloys with look a treat on the car.
I recommend to keep away from the turbo version as my brother previously owned one and reliability was an issue with idling and spark plugs.

Not only did it look like a baby Ferrari with its gleamiong red paintwork, pop up lights and twin exhasut system, it performed like one aswell! Not so common on the roads now you can't help notice people turning there heads for a look and i'm sure at first glance they think it's a Ferrari :) I have had no reliablility issues with my car as of yet, Ive had the car serviced at Toyota by very helpful staff. I have only replaced the engine struts underneath the engine and purchased some nice black and red rim 17" alloys with look a treat on the car. I recommend to keep away from the turbo version as my brother previously owned one and reliability was an issue with idling and spark plugs. Interior is very nice with leather all round, driving position is very nice with fully adjustable steering wheel. Toyotas are known for bullet prof engines, mine has done 121,000 miles and has no issues, starts first time every time and has a really nice roar and pull to it. Common problem I have is the t-bar seals slightly leaking when I get heavy rain. Apart from this it is a great car which you can pick up for anything from £500 upwards, most definately a future classic collectable car. Probably the best car Toyota has ever produced in my books, shame they don't make them like this anymore!
Advantages: handeling, performance, reliability, affordability Disadvantages: hairdresser image, scary in the wet
...a porsche and its the toyota thats my fav. It has done over 170,000 miles. She doesnt burn oil starts first time every time and nothing so far has yet to go wrong. I have heard tales of these cars covering over 300,000 miles without probs and i can wholey beleave them. Point to point my mr2 would eat my other car alive the handeling is incredible in the dry. Although it is a nightmare in the wet though mine is an early model so is absent from power ... ...the rear wheels are about to let go. These cars are very economical which i think has to be down to there light weight and good aerodynamics i never average much less than 30mpg and with carefull driving its possible to get into the 40's.The only thing that i have done so far is the swap to a mongoose exhaust systems which gives a really nice sound and gives slightly better acceleration. The car has brilliant acceleration for normaly aspirates 2ltr ...

Advantages: Underestimated sports car, easily tuned, fast, fun, mid/rear engine, 2 seats Disadvantages: Cramped engine bay, 2 seats, twitchy handling in the wet
I have now owned my MR2 for 3 years. It started life as a normally aspirated (170hp) car and is now a Turbo 300+hp beast. It runs 0-60mph in less than 5 seconds, which is faster than most porsches! What i am trying to convey is the fact that these pretty innocent "hairdresser" cars cost less than a second-hand boy-race car but can produce supercar performance for very little investment. Considering that there are MR2's in the states running 800+hp ...

Advantages: Looks, performance, economy, easy to manouveur , cabin space Disadvantages: seat adjustment, cant see bonnet if you are on the small side
HI, my husband has just bought a MR2 for me as a present. Nothing different about that you may think, but its PURPLE!!! I love driving this car and the looks I aquire from it (might be the colour though!!! Ha) It is very easy to drive, park and generally excellent on fuel if u drive it steady and sensibly (which can be quite tricky!!) The only things I dont like is the fact that I have to drive with a cushion behind my back as the seat doesnt adjust far enough forward for my little legs (I am only 5FT tall) and you cannot see the bonnet unless the pop-up headlights are on. The t-bar is a doddle to take on and off and I recommend this car to all.!! ...
