We hired a P-reg one of these to go from Cardiff, Wales to Helson, Cornwall for the Lizard Festival at the time of the eclipse. In it we managed to load four adults; two kids and a lot of computer and band gear. Perhaps we had overloaded it a touch. :-) It was a hot time of year and with no air-con it was swelteringly hot inside, especially at the back with its flap windows.
Access to the back row of seats is limited and so is the luggage space, so when we flipped on of the seats up and to the side we gained a bit of storage, but not as much as total removal would. Our problem was now that getting in and out of the sixth seat involved crawling over the top of the row in front. Not good. The sliding rear doors mean a lot of fiddling to get kit to stay put while closing.
The automatic transmission worried me a bit fuel-wise, but I was partially reassured by the overdrive button on the shift stick. The trouble is that there was never quite enough oomff in top speed and we ended up using the overdrive like a fifth gear.
Everyone is high up in the previa, which is good if a little strange after a while spent drivingcars, but what freaked me out the most was the rolling ride. Everytime we changed lanes on the packed M5 motorway the thing would rock and oversteer until the passengers thought we were going to lose it. I was not reassured by the brakes either. Maybe this is a vehicle you need to get used to, but it didn't come off that well compared to my old Bedford CF ambulance, and that had a soft ride. It's a bit bloomin narrow for something that high. I felt I was driving a runaway train.

Advantages: Good Looking! Spacious and excellent choice for a family of 2-5 children Disadvantages: Feels really big and sometimes hard to park, especially in London. The Fuel consumption is 14-15 Litres per 100km, quite greedy rider.
