Advantages Cheap to run, insure and tax, looks amazing

Disadvantages None!

Price
My 2007 56 reg Toyota Yaris cost £4000 which came with a 6 month warranty, road tax and a full M.O.T. This was bought from a small, local garage and compared to the larger dealerships, this was a steal! I think because Toyota's aren't as popular as Fiestas, corsas etc, they are slightly cheaper. Try and barter with the dealer and you really will be able to get a great car at a fantastic price!

Looks
Being a lovely shiny red, I would say this car definitely looks brand new! With a bit of tlc, the car will look stunning, particulalry in the sun. It is quite small in length but rather bulky and spacious and the 2006 onwards model really stands out from the crowd.

Fuel consumption
On average, these cars give 50mpg which is fantastic. This is because of the small engine size. Obviously if you're going to be speeding a lot then it will use a lot more petrol and other obvious things that use a lot of petrol are things like having excess weight in the car, don't carry things around that you don't need.

Space
Being a three door, I thought mine would be quite small inside but when you get in, it is much bigger than you think. You can very comfortably fit four adults inside and the back seats can move further back if needed. The seats are very comfortable, particularly if you are travelling far which is a bonus. There is also a lot of storage for things such as CDs, sunglasses etc so you are never short of somewhere to put your belongings.

Features
This car has lots of great features such as:
Electric mirrors, windows and doors
Extendable boot storage
Radio and CD sound system
Lots of storage
Futuristic style dashboard display
£95 road tax per year
Some have air conditioning
Drinks holders
Safety features such as air bags, ABS and a factory fitted alarm.

Road handling
Unlike some cars, this one feels very light to drive considering it is extremely spacious inside. It is quick off the mark and although it is only a 1.0 litre car, it gathers speed quickly and does not seem to struggle like others 1 litre cars may. Don't let the small engine size put you off - I initially wondered if this was going to be big enough as I do quite a lot of motorway driving but it really is fantastic. The power steering enables you to manoeuvre the car really well and changing gear is really smooth too. It is also great for city driving too and I find it really easy to park.

I really cannot fault this car - everything about it seems brilliant. I understand this car is not for everyone but as far as Toyota's go, this is definitely recommended!

A really good, and mostly under-rated car the Yaris - particularly good second hand buy - pity Toyota have lost the plot with the latest model. R.
