Advantages Large range of cars available in one location.
Disadvantages The advertised price is not the price you will pay

I saw a Polo advertised at £4995 which was a fair independent dealer price, but when I visited the showroom I discovered that you have to pay an extra "admin" fee of £91 and either buy about £650+ of "warranty" from a third party or pay £250 for an AA check. Since it had only done 7000 miles I was happy to take the risk and pay the sticker price, but the salesman insisted I had to pay for warranty or an AA check (at a price much higher than advertised on AA website) The car in question was ex Mobility with an Irish number plate (not mentioned on website).
