Advantages: Very, very good pop songs! Disadvantages: The album starts on a bad note.
Indie Rave. The latest term derived from the NME to describe a new type of music, in this case, dancy indie pop music which may cause some neon clothing disasters. Of course, it is a horrible term, but it has produced some excellent albums in the past year.
One of these is the debut from Brazilian band, Cansei De Ser Sexy, or more commonly known as CSS. What this band have done is create a sound which could be classed easily as pop, disco, or dance, yet is broad with it. In essence, it is a pop album, and an eccentric one at that. First, the lyrics are completely uncensored and cover sex from a thousand different angles, as well as pretentious artists and music being 'beach houses. Yes really.
Opening track 'CSS Suxx' is a throwaway intro, but a dancy one, with it's repetitive line of the title over a splash of guitars and drums ...
Advantages: A couple of good songs in there. Disadvantages: No catchy choruses, and it all sounds too polished
When the instruments gradually build up on opener "Jager Yoga" the last vocal you would expect to hear would be Lovefoxxx's undeniably distinctive tone. I was half expecting the white 20 something, cocky/trendy so and so (Pigeon Detectives?) to swagger all over what sounds like typical generic indie music.
We do get a swaggery, confident vocal presence and the signature upfront lyrics for example; "We didn't come into the world, to walk around. We came here to take you out" But this is to be honest one of the few things that makes this recognisable as CSS, that and a little flutter of synth.
I'm all for bands trying something different and evolving into something new. But, when that something is an idea that has been done to death by hundreds of other bands, (for better or for worse), I feel a bit disappointed.

Advantages: best game play i have ever seen i spent £2000 on a pc just to play it Disadvantages: not alot outdated graphics but amazing for the age
of the trade through observation. It should also be noted that while Counter-Strike does require tactical thinking and teamwork, it's still a fast-paced shooter at its core. So not only are lightning-fast reflexes necessary to excel, but so are a fast connection and a low ping.
Still, despite its weaknesses, Counter-Strike is undeniably influential, and has already helped inspire countless similar mods and games.
