Let me start by saying well done to the people at DreamWorks on turning the Ultimate Animation into the ultimate movie…….man it was great.
Ok back to the game. Transformers the Game - PS2…its Based on the 2007 Transformers movie, but it gives you a look at the parts the movies left off…like when bumblebee first arrive on earth, his mission and what happen before he showed up at the used car dealership so that Sam can choose him.

AUTOBOTS line up:-

Optimus Prime - Peterbuilt Semi
Bumblebee - "'76 Camero", later turned into an "'09 Preproduction Camero"

Ironhide - GMC Topkick C4500

Jazz - Pontiac Solstice

Ratchet - H2 Hummer, Search & Rescue custom.

DECEPTICONS line up:-

Megatron - Cybertronian Jet

Starscream - F-22 Raptor

Blackout - MH-53M Pave Low IV Helicopter

Scorponok - None, he's always a scorpion

Barricade - Saleen S281 Patrol Car

Shockwave - Huge ground Cannon, and Helicopter

Brawl - M1 Abrams tank

BoneCrusher - Buffalo Armored Vehicle

Sadly you don't get to use all the characters, you are able to see them in cutscenes and missions but not to play as them.

The game starts off by letting you choose a side TO PROTECT - The Autobots or TO DESTROY - The Decepticons.
If you choose to be an Autobot, you start as Bumblebee just arriving on earth sent on his Mission to find and Protect Sam Witwicky.
Your missions are basic all around this little town. To start your mission get to the green dot on the map, if you don't want to start just as yet….this is for both Autobots and Decepticons you can roam around the town and collect the yellow Energon cubes to unlock bonus items and to access challenges which look like bigger Energon cubes but are black. Also try to complete record tasks which you can see from the Menu by pressing start, Tasks like Throwing, Speed, and Destruction etc.
Once commence a mission, you will get to fight off waves of Decepticon drones, which are really easy to defeat but please be advised that not all drones are push over, some are as hard as a Cement Mixer Truck and Recovery Truck with a crane so watch out for these drones. You only get to fight actual Decepticons in boss missions. After completing a couple easy missions Bumblebee fights off Barricade.
The next character you use is Jazz; basically you are a distraction for the rest of the Autobots to escape the police all you do is drive to the target and destroy gas stations to draw attention to your self.
The next character is Ironhide, and his mission is to protect Jazz from drones and police.
You then play as Optimus Prime in two missions, first one Bumblebee gets captured by a helicopter and you drive after him and stay in range or you will fail. The second mission you fight Shockwave to defeat him before he destroy the whole town.
Sorry but I can't tell you any more I will be giving every thing away, leaving you with nothing to look forward to. If you think that not right just comment me you want to know the rest and I will type it in.

If you choose to be a Decepticon, you start as Blackout arriving at the US Military Base and your mission is basically to destroy any one who gets in your way. Can I just say I think he is the best Decepticon to play as in the game, pure power aka the big Guns.
Then for your next mission Blackout will release Scorponok and you will take control of him…Scorponok can't transform instead he can dive in sand or dirt but not on solid roads. His mission is to destroy some communication trucks before you run out off time. A bit of advice, try to destroy the one that's furthest away at first…leaving it to last will make you run out of time before you even get there,…The bigger the arrow, the closer the target.
The next two missions you play as Blackout, the first one your get to the target zones and destroy the building to find flashing green computers, once found just pick them up when they stop flashing just drop them or throw them at choppers. Basically you are searching for the information about The Witwicky's. The second mission is a dogfight so to speak you need to shoot down some fighter jets and stealth bombs.

You then begin a new level and you play as Barricade the little town, searching for Sam Witwicky, you play as Barricade through the whole level.
You will also need to fights off waves of Autobot drones. Most of these drones are the same as Decepticon drones, just different colours.
You then have to rescues Frenzy from a police station, if you don't already know Frenzy is the little Decepticon that can transform into a CD player or a Phone from the movie. He has information on Sam Witwicky.
Once that mission is complete, the next one is to pursuit Bumblebee to destroy him, you will fight me but he will run away during the battles and you have to drive him down and shoot him up. When his life is finish you complete the mission, but Bumblebee will escapes.
The final mission is to finish off Bumblebee; basically it's the same as the fist battle. When Bumblebee is defected the level is completed.

New level and you play as Starscream through the whole level, in different mission which are really easy so enjoy playing as Fighter Jet I know I did.
Sorry but I can't tell you any more….trust me you will want to play it for your self.

Both Autobots and Decepticons Campaigns have 5 levels and a bonus level which is unlocked when you complete level 5. Each level has 4 chapters except for level 5 and also the bonus level.

Autobots Campaign
Level 1 - The Suburbs
Level 2 - More Than Meets the Eye
Level 3 - Inside Hoover Dam
Level 4 - The Last Stand
Level 5 - The Ultimate Doom
Bonus - Cybertron: Autobot

Deceptions Campaign
Level 1 - SOCCENT Military Base
Level 2 - The Hunt for Sam Witwicky
Level 3 - A Gathering Force
Level 4 - City of the Machines
Level 5 - Day of the Machines
Bonus - Cybertron: Decepticon

The Sound effect is perfect for the game, the character sounds exactly like in the movie. Battle sound are perfect, gunfire, explosion, destruction of the building and don't for get the sound of transforming. Overall the sound is Excellent.

The Graphics I can always say excels, mostly in the cutscenes, the gameplay however isn't that bad but I think could be better; then again I can't say this about the Playstation 3 Version but that another review. Overall the Graphic is play able….in basic terms Good.

Gameplay…..well the controls are easy to use, it even shows you what buttons to use some times. What make it easier is that Mostly all the characters you play as are the use the same controls….so you won't get confused. The interactive environment is great, it gives you the full experience of being a Giant Robot, like pulling up trees and light poles to use as weapons, pick up cars, bricks, fences to throw at enemies and also climb buildings and blown up petrol Stations. Game play is very straight forward which is how it should be. Overall Gameplay is Excellent.

Well as I said at the beginning if you love the movies you will love the game, If love transforms and always wish you were one of them then get the game and Transform and Roll out.

ENJOY…………….THE EVIL OR THE GOOD IS ALL UP TO YOU!!!!
