The Transformers Animated: The Battle Begins DVD Boxed Set is brilliant ... not only does it contain the DVD 'The Battle Begins' but it also comes with two fantastic Transformers Animated Figures !!!
'The Battle Begins' is a DVD that introduces the new Transformers Animated series ... a sort of 'Pilot Episode' that sets the scene for the ultimate battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons and the quest for the elusive All Spark !!! It is a great DVD for Transformers fans of all ages and an ideal episode to introduce younger fans to the animated series.
However, it is the two Transormers Figures themselves that make this set extra special because they are, infact ,the two greatest Transformers of all time - Optimus Prime and Megatron !!!
Also, they are both 'Deluxe Class' Transformers (and are only availablein this set). In terms of quality and originality, Cybertronian Optimus Prime and Cybertronian Megatron are two of the most impressive looking figures in the entire Transformers Animated range.
Cybertron Mode Optimus Prime is the Leader of the heroic Autobots ... he quickly transforms from Cybertronian Truck Mode into a Deluxe Class Robot and has an ion weapon that converts into a giant war axe and a windshield that coverts into a melee shield.
Cybertron Mode Megatron is the Leader of the Decepticons. As both vehicle and Deluxe Class Robot he looks impressive and comes with a massive fusion cannon accessory that converts to a mighty battle sword.
Both Transformers have great articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and feet. They are well made too ... with lots of expression, great conversion mechanics and importantly are both very durable.
The Battle Begins Set is outstanding value for money too ... considering the usual price of a single Transformers Animated Figure is around £12.99 this set retails around £19.99. And for that price you not only get two Transformers Animated Figures but you also get a DVD too !!!
The fact that the two Animated Transformers are both main characters and exclusive figures only available in this set is another massive plus point ... as is the fact that the Megatron in this set is far superior to the standard Megatron figure released as part of the Transformers Animated toy range.
Shop around too ... I recently picked this up in a toy store for just £10 ... but because of the "collectors" appeal of this product I have also seen it being sold at crazy prices (so be cautious).
