Advantages: Informative, interesting, easy to find things
Disadvantages: Only thing I can think of is its size!

Lonely Planet: Australia

Advantages: Crammed with useful information. Contains colour maps, Info. on accomodation, activities, getting around etc.
Disadvantages: Adds weight to your backpack.
