I abandoned ship.
Advantages: Designed to combat travel and morning sickness Disadvantages: Didn't work, look strange
When I was pregnant with my first child I suffered horrendous morning sickness, but not just in the mornings, it could be afternoon or evening, timing didn't matter. The sickness was always worse during travel and getting to work on the bus quickly became a nightmare, I could make it through half the journey but soon the nausea would approach and I'd have to get off the bus in order to cool down and get some air or to do the inevitable. There are ... ...or morning sickness and despite giving ginger biscuits a try they didn't seem to have any effect so I looked into other methods of dealing with the sickness and bought a set of Sea-bands.
Sea-bands are knitted wrist bands that feature a plastic bead, this bead presses down on what's called the Nei Kuan acupressure point on your wrists, which is shown in medical studies to reduce the feelings of nausea, they are designed for use during travel or ...

No good.
Advantages: Little, tasteless Disadvantages: Ermm.. doesn't actually work?
I don't know how much this would cost in the High Street, because I bought this from a ferry when my family was suffering from seasickness- bad for me, as I was the only one there completely fine!
I bought it for £4.99. It has three sheets with 24 tablets on each of them, making it 72 tablets n total. Each tablet is just over £0.06, and whilst having to take 2 tablets every hour if on the journey, it isn't too good value. If before the journey, ... ...It didn't really help my sister much, as she was sick even after taken the tablets, but she was in a pretty bad condition beforehand. She carried on taking the medicine until the end of the ferry, and wasn't sick again although she still felt quite awful. Good things about the tablets:
They don't need water to take as you only have to chew on them or suck.
They don't taste like anything at all so you won't have to prevent yourself form spitting ...

Boots Travel Calm Tablets
Advantages: Effective in 20 minutes, cheaper than Joy Rides (same stuff), kids can take it Disadvantages: side effects of the drug, dry mouth and sometimes drowsiness
...and emergency pulling over! The Boots staff could not have been more helpful in explaining how to use them and did warn of the side effects which are common to all travel sickness medicines. As a result of the type of medicine they all can cause drowsiness and all can cause a dry mouth, but as I had been warned I made sure I had drinks on hand and it wasnt a huge problem. The only thing to bear in mind other than the side effects is that it is a ... ...about 4 hours you will either need to redose or use a longer acting one like Stugeron or Traveleeze instead. Finally it is a TINY little tablet, even the most tablet-phobic person should be able to swallow this one!
They come in packs of 12 and are £2.49.
The tablets contain the active ingredient Hyoscine hydrobromide and the pack caution reads as follows:
May cause drowsiness. If affected do not drive or operate machinery. Avoid alcoholic drink. ...

Mrs. Geraldine Brock
Advantages: Completely effective against sea sickness Disadvantages: Severe after effects . Nausea and vomiting for several days.
...think, of a product called Scopoderm patches. I then ventured forth on another cruise without mishap, even though the sea was relatively rough. I used the patches for the 2 weeks I was on the boat. Returning home I experienced sickness two days after removing the last patch. I did not connect this with the patches at the time.
I then went on two more cruises with very severe sickness for a week after returning home. I have come to the conclusion ...

Sick bags Qeezee
Advantages: No smell, absorbs all liquid, wipe and easy to tie Disadvantages: hard to get hold of - not in normal chemists
This is an amazing product, I was passed one of these on the bus when my daughter was throwing up. I had no idea what it was and didn't have much time to check how to work it but it was very simple. Basically it seems to absorb the smell and the liquid. It even includes a wipe. I was feeling very concerned about Sam and how embarassing (we had just arrived in Sri Lanka for a family holiday) it was to be publically throwing up. There was no smell ...
