The travel category is a busy one, especially in summer, of course, when everyone and their grandmother go on holiday and on coming back feel the urge to share their experiences with the poor sods who had to stay at home. Having posted 30 travel opinions to date, here comes my advice on WHY and HOW you should contribute to this category and what to consider when you READ and WRITE travel reviews. Most of us will at least once per year go on vacation, in the UK or abroad. We start weeks or months ahead to browse through catalogues and guidebooks, make flight and hotel reservations, plan our tours and buy sun lotion. The travel category of Ciao is an imaginative place to go, and has merits that only the internet can give you, i.e. the ability to glean from words what other parts of the world are like, and if you think of this category in its true sense, is your chance to share places that you consider special, or even a nightmare. Even if I couldn't afford a big holiday abroad I still made sure that I went somewhere for my holidays if only for a few days. if you go slightly out of season you can usually pick up a bargain, even if it's only in a caravan. I think the travel section is very useful , but it is a pity that not many people write ops about this subject. To me it is one of my favourite things in life, I don't really care for material possessions, I just like to getaway from it all sometimes. Like many readers on this site we all look at others opinions on the phone companies computer software, hardware and games but in my opinion one of the least read areas is the travel section. Do we all care about material positions and quibbling over customer service of our banks? The answer is probably yes. Most of us work 5-6 days per week48 weeks of the year but what do we do with the rest we go places, go on holiday and where better to find out an honest opinion of a town for a day trip or a holiday resort we haven’t heard of than here on our site.
