Here's a little styling beauty. From the good people at Tresemme, this is their "Create" Fibre Putty. Available in all good stockists, and some rubbish ones as well...actually, probably only good ones!

This hair product comes in a 150ml/129g transparent tub, complete with black screw lid. Being made by Tresemme, you would expect the standard of this product to be almost second to none, and on first impressions it certainly is. Upon opening the tub, the first thing that strikes you is the delicious smell. It's a sweet, fruity kind of smell which I can't quite put my finger on, but it's something I'm a big fan of. Over time, naturally the smell deteriorates, but it still lingers the further you get through the white putty.

According to the tub, the product "creates and holds lasting messed up effect," which I think sums it up correctly. My hair is getting 'long-ish' for my normal french-crop length, and when it's cut short, this stuff is the business. But as I've got quite thick hair, when it's long and heavy, the putty struggles to make a lasting impression...however, that's not meant to be the job of fibre putty for hair of that length...I should really buy some wax for that!

On the base of the tub, it tells us that Tresemme's noted stylists suggest; "rub a small amount into hands and rake through hair or scrunch in. Rework as often as you like without adding more product." Sure, I'd agree with that - adding more than necessary can make your hair greasy and even leave a dandruff-like residue if you've not washed your hair between applications. This may sound like a disadvantage of the product, but you'd be hard pushed to find a fibre putty that doesn't do this to your hair.

The thick white substance is made up of a whole host of unpronounceable ingredients which would take me a week to get through, but there's no allergy warnings on the product...but then again, those that eat it, deserve to suffer the consequences, regardless of the tasty smell!!

One slight disadvantage with the product is, when applying it to your hair, be warned of having any moisture on your hands or you'll be left with awfully sticky palms. Something which is uncomfortable and looks nasty. Hopefully though, most of us will be applying this in the bathroom, so a tap to wash them can never be far away!!

Naturally, being Tresemme and a somewhat specialist product, this isn't cheap and the likes of Shockwaves do produce something similar at a slightly cheaper price. You can find it in the likes of Boots and Superdrug for anywhere between £4 and $5 - as I said, not cheap! However, if you've got short-ish hair, which this product is intended for, you won't go through it like it's going out of fashion; it will last for a decent period of time.

So there you have it - something for the bathroom cabinet. Something with a bit of style and flair. Tomorrow - Tesco Value Hair Gel...
