Trico NEOFORM Blades are the newest in wiper blade design, and have only recently been introduced. These are also known as flat or beam blades.
These Trico NeoForm Beam Blades, represent the future of the wiper industry, in both performance and also styling. They are designed to compliment the aesthetics of today's vehicles.

Wiper blades have always had a bad press, they are only fitted when strips of ruber are hanging off your old ones, or for the MOT test, they should be up there with the designer polish and ICE equipment, they are certainly a lot more important. In the event of an accident, the Police take note of any contributing factors, including how clean you windscreen is, how good your wipers are etc. It is very important to have decent blades for safety.

NeoForm blades are not the exact ones fitted by car manufacturers, but they do have the look as well as the function of the latest Original Equipment blades, but these also have the value added performance of Teflon® resin. They also outlast conventional blades, especially on snow and ice.

You may have noticed the new style blades in showroom models, they are very slim, streamlined, and are designed to offer little or no wind resistance. They are also supposed to make less noise, and do not make that awful squeak when the screen is not quite wet enough.

These ones are available in black only, and can be bought in any length. The price depends on what length you require, and where you buy them. You will find they are a bit cheaper than going to the main agent, but of course will cost more than the normal type of wiper blades. I have seen them for less than a tenner, to over twenty Pounds! You can buy them in singles, or in pairs.

These blades curve to suit the glass, so do tend to remain in contact with the surface of the windscreen at all times. This of course means you have perfect vision, as opposed to the old blades which could lift at high speeds, especially when the springs got tired.

I am a bit lazy when it comes to keeping cars clean, however, my windscreen is always clean, inside and out. Wiper blades are the only thing you have to keep the road muck off the screen when moving, so it pays to have decent ones.

I also hate things obscuring my line of vision, and this includes larger than neccesary wiper blades, especially with giant spoilers fitted.

The blades themselves, come with all adaptors, so will fit to MOST but not all wiper arms, although you can check first. The blades are made of 100% natural rubber, and have spring steel strips inside, to provide the curvature.

These are easy to fit, and easy to clean, I can recommend them. They come in lengths of up to 700mm, so are suitable for all cars, as well as buses and trucks too.

Trico have been making wiper blades since 1917, and have quite a reputation, they invented the first multi-edge wiper blade in the 1920s. The company does have a good website, take a look here:-

I wonder if these are the ones that Subaru are marketing as "Aeroblades"? As you commented, most new cars seem to be supplied with these new frameless wipers these days - my Legacy actually wasn't - Subaru asking a fairly reasonable (if memory serves me correctly) £16 for a pair - which I will put on at the 12,000 mile servive in a couple of months. Vision is a vital safety factor - I won't move the car without the windows being thoroughly de-iced. Richard.

I've been known to drive to work with my head out the driver's window because I've run out of de-icer and the wipers have frozen solid... xx
