Advantages: Great storyline and world, as well as alright artwork. Disadvantages: Gets quite bloody in the fight scenes, some of the artwork isn't good.

Having watched several of the anime episodes of Trinity Blood and read some of the manga, I decided to read the book which inspired all of this since friends and reviewers from other websites were praising it. I picked it up the first volume from my almost-local library and began to read, already interested in the artwork used in the character introduction page (basically ink drawings of them with a sentence written about the character).
The story revolves around the future, a race of aliens land onto the Earth and a war begins. The aliens are called vampires because of their bloodlust and the Vatican creates a group to maintain peace among the two races, AX. Agent Crusnik (Abel Nightroad) is something dangerous to the vampires, after all, if vampires prey on humans, who will see the vampires as prey?
Compared to the anime the book features heavily on the character's past and their relationships with each other, which I enjoyed because the anime always confused me with several of the storylines. There is several fight scenes which I found fell into the gory eew-that's-a-bit-disgusting category. But fans of action would enjoy these scenes.
The artwork through out the book is quite good, some pages create detailed images to go alongside the written word as well as helping the reader imagine what the characters look like, while others seem almost 2-D and just something to flick past while you continue on with the story.
The story is broken down into four short stories: Flight Night, Witch-Hunt, From the Empire and Sword Dancer.
A great story to read, especially if you are a manga or Trinity Blood fan. I enjoyed most of the artwork and all of the story when I read it completely. This book series is something I would most definitely continue to read.
