As you are all probably bored with hearing by now, Dave and I have just bought a house in Llandudno in North Wales. It is an old house, having been built in 1896 and it was previously used as a guesthouse. Consequently there are certain things in the house that were geared to the comfort of the guests.

One of my real loves in this house is the shower cubicle. At our old house in the Midlands we had a shower over the bath in a very tiny bathroom so when anyone took a shower the entire bathroom got soaked and it was so much trouble to clean everything I usually had a bath instead! Well we have been here since 2nd August and it is now 10th September and I have only had one bath! Ah, that is why the neighbours wear pegs on their noses!

Seriously we have a lovely shower cubicle complete with a Triton Ivory Shower and it is great!

The shower itself has two main dials on the front. The top one is the power selector and has four settings; stop, cold, economy and high. The bottom dial is the temperature control and is numbered from one to ten around the dial.

There are also two indicator lights on the shower unit. One is the power light, which lights up when the shower is heating as the water is running through it and the other is the low pressure indicator which will light up if the water pressure is too low and the shower will automatically cut out.

I find that the shower works perfectly on the high setting at about number 5 or thereabouts during the summer and early autumn, but I expect it will get turned up a bit higher as the weather turns colder.

When I have a shower I just lean into the cubicle and turn the power selector on and let it run for a minute or so until it has heated up (cold showers first thing in the morning are not my cup of tea!). Then I get in and relax under the force of the water, just enough to wake me up, revitalise me and get me nice and clean, but not so strong that it is uncomfortable.

When I have finished I just turn the power selector to the stop setting and the shower stops immediately.

The showerhead is adjustable to enable the user to choose one of five different showerhead patterns representing five different arrangements of waterpower. One is a complete shower head spray which is the same force all over, one is a stronger force from the centre of the showerhead and less strong round the edge of the water, one is just a strong narrow jet from the centre of the shower, one is a medium sized slightly stronger jet and the last one is the medium sized stronger jet with a normal strength jet around the edge.

Mind you I must admit I just get in and have a shower, I haven’t really bothered messing about with these different settings yet!

The showerhead itself is also adjustable in height by moving it up and down the rod on which it is fixed and in direction by just twisting it up, down or to either side.

Since the shower was already installed when we bought the house I am afraid that I m unable to let you know how much it actually costs. Sorry about that!

We also have a Triton Amber set over the bath in the bathroom and although I have not yet used it the two guests who have both said that it was very good.

In conclusion I would say that I would definitely recommend Triton showers as being easy to use, effective and leaving me full of get up and go! Well for a little while at least!

I would love a decent shower - ours is ok but it isn't very powerful and it's so slow - still at least it works. Julie
