I have been biking now for over 20 years, since 1976 actualy. That does not mean however I am an old fart who goes for the old style bikes. Far from it I have owned and ridden some really modern sports machines, ZZR1100, YZF100R etc. Unfortunatly my knees gave out first so radical riding positions are not desirable. Also increased police presence was taking the fun out of motorcycling, so time for a complete change. I have just brough a Triumph T509 speed tripple in Roulette Green, or as I have come to know it Snot green. Great colour and great bike, it makes you think you are going faster than you are, and its suits my biking nature. Best described in looks as a thugs bike, meant to be ridden and sod the law. Lukerly you annot remain at high speed for long unless you develope a neck like Arnold. Which is what I needed to slow down a bit. This does not mean that you cannot reach law breaking speeds quick, just you know about it if you keep it up. Handeling well light on the front end with a tendency to lift the wheel, but it all adds to the fun. It goes round corners a treat, and well nothing has passed me yet. A great fun bike with unusual looks that get you noticed

Hi Shad & all fellow "TRUMF" & bike riders.
I to LOVE the "SPEED" and therefore can only give you a lowish rating for your write up. It needs more "WIZZZzzz" to it, great bike. Saddly my "OLD GIRL" likes a "GOOD" seat under her bum, and the "SPEED" don't cater for "PILL's" on the back that much. I to love the "ACID GREEN", looks real "BAD"!!! I swapped my HONDA X11 for the T-Bird, the last of the old run in white and orange. We saw the new T-Bird at the NEC, and I liked it even more with the inc. in HP's. I now find I need more power from my "T", than she's got.
Having a HONDA as my first bike has left it mark on me, I still keep coming back to HONDA. So I'm excited at the thought of the "BIG CB 1300 comming to the UK. As I'm disabled and unable to go to work it's going to be hard to find the money for one, but I'll live in hope of getting my mitts on one.
Like you say "SPEED" is been used as the "WIPPIN DOG" for all motoring accidents, and we all know it's not TRUE!!! If it was only 25% true then we'd have no motor sport driver/riders left by now.
Finally have you been on TRIUMPH's web sit and down loaded the screen savers yet? A must for you!!!
So to you and all our fellow "BIKERS", "Keep it between the hedges and one wheel down"!!! "Safe speedin now". T-BIRD.
