It's engine puts out 108bhp which is plenty powerful enough , she'll do over 150 mph ( so i've been told ). When i first took the Triumph Sprint out i was very surprised with the smooth and powerful response to the throttle. She handles well and i found it quite comfortable . I wasn't sure what a 3 cylinder engined bike would be like but was pleasently surprised. There were no vibrations from the tripple as i had expected and a lovely smooth tone to the exhaust, although the engine does sound noisey compared to the later models , this one was registered in 2000. Although the noises are nothing to worry about being a bike mechanic i couldn't but help thinking what they could be , although now i don't even notice them. It's engine puts out 108bhp which is plenty powerful enough , she'll do over 150 mph ( so i've been told ). There is plenty of torque at lower revs and great acceleration using the higher rev range, pulling away the front wheel gets very light and you have to be careful not to wheelie the bike , also in the wet the rear tends to spin easily . She's a very economical bike , recently i did about 1600 miles on her with my mate on a TT600 and every fuel stop i was at least 2 litres cheeper on fuel. You'd easilly get 200 miles to a full tank of fuel. But on long distance runs the seat is no good , after about 200 miles my seat was getting quite painful . I think with a decent seat this would be no problem . Really that's the only fault i can find with this bike apart from the lack of bungie hooks for any luggage you need to tie to the rear seat or hump. You can get a sports rack for it but the seat hump has to come off to fit it. Sorry one more fault and that's the mirrors , to be of any use they need to be wider apart, there is a part you can buy for this , i just pull my elbows in tightly to use them. You get good feel to the brakes , both front and rear , when braking , which is a nice change compared to those bikes with abs brakes. The lights are great , speedo's easy to read in nice big LCD numbers. This is an excellent bike , economical and inexpensive to buy.
Advantages: Nippy commuter. Disadvantages: Cramped and thirsty.
...couple of weeks while my triumph trophy was in for service. It was in orange so you couldnt miss seeing it.
I found it to be small as i ride a much bigger bike, it is very nippy then i realised it has a 955i engine in it. A 3 cylinder so it had a nice sound to it.
It is a sports riding position so can be uncomfortable for distance work as your weight is carried through your wrists.
It would be good for short distance commuting through a big city ... ...that it the kind of commuting i do and it coped but at the end of the journey i found it tiring and will stick with the 1200cc Trophy.
I think it would be quite easy to break the speed limit on it without realising as it is small light and powerful. But it does handle very well as a good sports bike should but didnt get chance to try on a track or country lanes.
I would suit a shorter person as im over 6 foot and found it to be quite a cramped ...

Advantages: comfort, handling, power, gorgeous looks and finish Disadvantages: None. Not a darn thing wrong with it!
were outstanding, I decided to give it a try. I took my 2003 TriumphSprint ST for a test drive right off the showroom floor on May 1, 2003.
First drive: The dealer (California BMW & Triumph, Mountain View, CA) was afraid to let me drive a new Sprint, and let me drive a RS instead. I wasn't impressed by the comfort, and hesitated to drive the ST. However, the dealer changed his mind and urged me to drive it. I took it out, and couldn't believe the difference. It was absolutely amazing. The power and handling were extremely impressive and surprising (after just getting off the RS). The wind protection was so much better than the RS, and far more than adequate. At 100 MPH, the bike was rock-solid, stable, and smooth as can be - in fact even smoother than at the lower speeds. Needless to say, I was sold. I took it home in the back ...
