I've had my Tiger for just over 30,000 miles in just over 2 years. I love the bike and when riding it can't imagine riding another bike, it's just perfect... Engine, comfort, riding position, character... However, in the 2 years I've owned it, it has so far cost over £2,000 in dealer servicing costs.... Bear in mind I ride all year round...
Chains and sprockets are acceptable (after 16,000 miles) but the brakes having to be fully stripped and serviced over 5 times (a bit of rain and the seize faster than you can say the word), head bearings, wheel bearings, multiple electrical problems, heated grips breaking, paint starting to flake badly on the swing-arm and engine, brakes that are superb when they have been done but fade very quickly (this is a Triumph trait - read other Triumph long term feedback)... It is a VERY costly machine to run. My Transalp ran for over 40,000 miles and cost very little to run sweetly... However, sometimes I consider selling the bike and getting something that is more reliable and better built (like my Transalp) but when you ride one and it is running well... after 20 years and over 15 bikes, it's the best bike I've ever ridden... I love my Tiger but my wallet hates it!
