Advantages: Triumph Brand. Good Finnish. Stable and predictable. Disadvantages: Heavy, long reach to bars, parts expensive.
and a progressive feel. (some might find the initial bite a bit to much as you have to be a bit carefull applying them or you get quite a dive at the front). Rear brake is crap but at least you don't end up locking it up, EBC pads didn't seem to help it much either.
The starter clutch had to be replace on my bike (this was done by the bloke I bought it off it cost him £500) apparently this is quite common on the early 900triumphs, so watch out for it. It also had a new set of fork seals at 9000 miles so I guess they get through them fairly fast. It had just had a new rear tyer when I bought it and needed a front I have one recipt for a new set of tyres so I guess it does about 7000 miles on a set of tyres. Which for a bike fo this weight is pretty good however I din't get the impression the last owner rode it very hard. Other than that I don't have ...
Advantages: Great all round bike Disadvantages: May be too large for shorter people
I own the 2001 version of this bike. The 1200cc 4 cylinder motor sure does pack a punch. It can out perform most bikes on the road.
It is a great tourer and commuter especially if the full luggage set is installed. This consists of 2 panniers and the optional top box. I have the triumph panniers but the top box i have is made by shad. The triumph top box is an optional extra and expensive new. It can be purchased on ebay though but you will need to be patient to locate the colour you are after.
It is a large bike but is ideally suited to those longer in the leg. It fits me perfectly as im just over 6 foot.
The comfort is variable but some people chose to fit an alternative seat such as a corbin or instal a sheepskin cover.
The comfort for the passenger is alot better due to the width of the seat.
I commute everyday on mine 20 miles ...
Advantages: Over all size Disadvantages: None unless you are a short person
Calling all lanky dispatchers, If you're fed up with locking knee joints and rider's cramp. This is for YOU.
The Tiger is a great all round mean machine even if you don't do dispatch work, It's taller than almost all road bikes making it great for all the taller people who love the open air. The price is very reasonable too when compared to the majority of other modern bikes.
For myself comfort is a must, and as of yet I've not found a bike to compete. You can ride for miles without that irritating leg stretching and cramp, not to mention the back ache. Being a very upright bike back ache is eliminated completely.
What about the mechanical side?
For starters you have a world known renowned British name you can trust in both on the road and on the track, in fact it's the same engine in the Triumph Daytona, all that's added is ...
