True blood is an absolutely fantastic television drama, the series was created from a series of books written by charlain Harris called the southern vampire mysteries.
The main character in the series is sooki who is a bar maid at a pub, she is also telepathic and can hear what people are thinki9ng which is great to watch, she falls in love with bill who is a vampire.
So far there have been 3 series of 12 episodes made, currently the 3rd series is being aired and there is already a fourth series in the pipelines to be aired next year.
The first series was mainly centred around the bar that sooki works in, in the first episode she serves her very first vampire customer which doesn't go down too well and sooki comes to his rescue, as sookie and bills relationship develops we find out more about there very different lives and how they learn to live together in this same place. During this series there are a few murders, which all centre on sookis brother Jason who used to play vinnie in home and away many years ago, although as a viewer we know he is innocent the police try to pin the murders on him. Sookis co-worker at the bar Tara has a rocky relationship with her alcoholic mother and this set the plot up nicely for the second series.
The conflict continues in the second series between humans and vampires only this time it gets much worse with Jason joining a group against vampires whilst his sister sooki has fallen in love with one.
This is a great series if you are into vampires and all that sort of thing, me and my husband have watched every episode of this avidly and it is one of those shows where you dare not miss an episode or you will loose the plot as each episode moves so quickly, I have just started to watch the 3rd series and have to say it hasn't gripped me as much as the first two did but it has chance to improve, I would recommend watching this if you like this style of drama. It is suitable for a wide range of ages too, I wouldn't say it was suitable for children but late teens definitely as my 17 year old cousin loves this series and so does my mother in law so is an attractive drama to a wide age range.
Series 3 began being aired on the 16th September 2010 on channel 4 at 10pm the next episode is on tonight.
Series 1 is no longer available on 4 on demand but will be widely available on DVD but series 2 is still available on 4 on demand if you want to catch upon the last series
