...me a bottle of Avon True Glow perfume this year.
I'll be honest, a lot of the Avon perfumes are not to my taste, and I find it irritating that you can't test them before using them - I know they do scented pages, but they don't seem very accurate to me!
When I took this out of the box I wasn't overly keen on the design of the bottle. It comes in a glass bottle that has an orangey tone to it, with the lid being more yellowy, ... ...is that it looks like a flame.
The bottle is not the worst I have seen from Avon, but personally I prefer something a bit prettier and more feminine, and also I found that because of the unusual shape the lid was quite difficult to remove, which also made this a little impractical.

When I took this out of the box I wasn't overly keen on the design of the bottle. It comes in a glass bottle that has an orangey tone to it, with the lid being more yellowy, and is an unusual wavy shape. I think the idea is that it looks like a flame.
The bottle is not the worst I have seen from Avon, but personally I prefer something a bit prettier and more feminine, and also I found that because of the unusual shape the lid was quite difficult to remove, which also made this a little impractical.
Avon simply describe this as 'floral and woody.' I wouldn't normally go for a woody scent, as I think woody and I tend to think 'masculine' but I was surprised at how this perfume actually smelled…
When you first spray this perfume, I think the main scent that comes out is actually orange. It has a really nice citrussy scent, with a woody undertone that takes the sharpness away from the citrus.
As it settles on the skin, although the orangeyness is still noticeable, the deeper middle and base notes start to come through, and it's here that they are a bit more woody and also slightly musky, yet still feminine and not too heavy.
Because this is a quite deep scent I would say it is more for evening wear than something I would wear during the day. It reminds me of summer nights actually and I think this would be gorgeous for the summer. The mix of citrus and the more woody tones make it smell quite exotic and although I usually go for a lighter more feminine and sometimes more glamorous sort of a scent, I was surprised that I liked this so much.
The fragrance is an Eau de Parfum, so stronger than an Eau de Toilette, and as such it has more staying power. I find a couple of sprays will last me all night and I don't need to re-apply very often, which hopefully will make this a very cost effective perfume.
On the subject of cost a 50ml bottle of this perfume will cost you just £12 from your Avon rep or www.avonshop.co.uk which I think is excellent value for money.
As I said, many of the Avon perfumes are not to my taste, so I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this one. Although it is a little too heavy for me to wear during the day, I have been wearing it at night, and I'm also using a few of the matching products now as well. I'd definitely recommend giving this a try.
Advantages: Smells Lovely, Low in Price, Attractive Bottle, Long Lasting Scent Disadvantages: Have Not Found Any Yet
...I got my bottle of True Glow Eau de Parfum Spray at 9 quid and according to what I saw on Ebay, this perfume is 14 quid to buy from your Avon Rep. A bonus is that I got a watch with mine as a free gift. It is silver in colour and looks like a bracelet with little fake diamonds around the square face of the watch . I'm fairly certain anyway that the diamonds are fake because I can't see them giving away real ones for free. To make it brief, I think ... ...a shower, I sprayed some True Glow on and I can't say I feel any better but I do feel really clean and fresh and I wouldn't be embarassed if someone came over right now. Well, I'd have to clean up all the used tissue that's laying around and do the dishes and vaccuum, etc....you get the point.....but if the house was clean, I wouldn't be embarassed. Or instead of cleaning, I could just have them stand outside my front door. Hmmmm...clean or be rude???? ...

****Avon: True Glow, Eau de Parfum****
I'm sure most people know who Avon are but for those who don't they are a cosmetics company which you can buy goods from either online or through a rep but not in the shops.
I tend to find Avon perfumes hit or miss. Some of them sound really nice with the ingredients or the scented page smells nice and then the perfume smells nothing like it.
**Bottle design**
The bottle design is a weird shape which i don't ... ...colour to it.
**Smell**
My first impressions of this is that the perfume has quite a deep smell and it is heavy. Since it isn't that light i would say that it is more of a night time perfume. It has a citrus smell with a woody undertone. Personally i think this would give me a headache if i could smell it all day.
**Price**
The normal price for this is £12 which considering it is a parfum is good. The scent lasts for ages so you would get away ...
