Trust Communicator Webcam WB-1400T

About six months ago I had to organise training on vodcasts (like a podcast only with video) in work. I needed to order 30 web cams to allow each of the employees being trained to access the training material and record their vodcast. I rang up our usual supplier and told him what I wanted, the budget I had, and asked for his suggestion. He recommended the Trust WB-1400T webcam and could supply 30 for around £8.00 each. As requested by my male I went out today and bought myself a webcam, so that he can see me when we chat on MSN, not having much money my criteria was that it would be cheap and simple to use. As I also had to visit Asda to buy a couple of blouses for working in I decided to have a look at Asda's range of computer accessories discovering this webcam in the process. The box is small about the size of a mouse box so wont be an overly large item - which on the cluttered PC desk is a good thing. Appearance: This is a smallish webcam, although not the smallest I have encountered. It has a silver/grey/black plastic design. A blue LED at the base of the lens tells you when the camera is active. The camera measures about 6 x 4 cm (not including the base). It has a button on the top of the unit (for image capture) & a base/clamp at the bottom. The base has rubber feet for stability on top of your monitor, but also forms part of a clamp should you wish to use the camera with a laptop or TFT monitor. I first brought this product for £9.99 in a somerfield store when thier new Robert Dyas section was built. I believed that I had a good bargain because webcams appear to be all the range these days and it seems I was right. After taking the webcam out of the box, I installed it on my PC and away I went. The webcam focuses well and the settings can be adjusted by using the softwares easy to use interface. I have a trust 1400T webcam at home and i am delighted to say it is preety good considering the price. I found the picture quality Ok but it differs from time to time and also if the webcams usb cable is taken out you have to set up all the webcams setting that includes darkness colour ect ect. If you want to take a picture of yourself it is preety annoying because you have to take the picture. Also the installation is time consuming. But when you do all of the setup the webcam isnt that bad at all the product design is good and also its very attractive. The price i paid for it was around 10 ... more
