We all have experienced having more desktop gadgets than USB ports, and when this experience fell to me I was landed with the task of searching for a reliable USB hub. The first one I bought was from a pound shop and was not reliable, and to be honest, was a waste of money as it did not have enough power to supply four attachments nor was it stable - the slightest nudge was enough to disconnect a USB device. So then I decided to visit Amazon and scrolled through the available products which was when I came across the Trust EasyConnect.

Whilst it was obvious to me that the Trust EasyConnect was significantly more than the very cheap (but useless) USB hubs, I still felt it offered excellent value for money as it was from a manufacturer I had actually heard of and seemed to be of a good quality. I paid £9.49 for it which I felt was a fair price especially when compared to some of the top of the range products. The general rule I tend to go by when shopping for products like this is go for the cheapest product possible whilst ensuring that what you are buying is not going to disappoint. Reaching that perfect balance is often difficult, but thankfully on this occasion my instinct was proved right!
Appearance -------------------
I was very pleased with its appearance which was one of the main reasons it attracted my attention. It stood out to me from all the other colourless and lifeless box-shaped USB hubs. This silver triangular prism is stylish and yet I felt still functional. It even had a rather snazzy blue light which lit up upon connectivity! – which for some reason emits the thought of high class technology to those of us, like myself, who are less than experts when it comes to such things.
In the Box ----------------
>AC adaptor >USB connection cable >The Hub itself >Cardboard with minor instructions >Velcro Sticker
Use ----------
In terms of ease of use it can be summarised with the following: “Plug and Play” – I found the hardest part opening the box! Instructions really aren’t necessary which is probably why none were included. Once plugged in and ready to go with the familiar and satisfying ‘ba-dum’ noice reaching my ears, all that was left to do was connect my many USB devices. Perhaps the only way I can fault the Trust EasyConnect is that once USB devices are connected, because of the angle at which the ports were placed on the product (most likely down to its shape), meant it did not balance on its base and instead leant to one side slightly. However this is evidently not something that Trust did not think off as included in the box was a Velcro sticker. However, the tilt really does not bother me, and also, who would want to commit to physically sticking it to a place on their desk?! I for one like to move things around once in a while! So unless you are bothered by the slight tilt its everyday use really cannot be faulted. And there is never any worry about not having enough power because of the supplied AC adaptor.
Compatibility -------------------------
I, and I’m sure many others, have all experienced severe incompatibility issues with Windows Vista. However, once again, I was not disappointed by the Trust EasyConnect as I experienced no incompatibility whatsoever. Although strangely not mentioned on the advertisement on Amazon, the Trust EasyConnect has apparently been certified for use with Vista which I thought was a major selling point for this product.
Summary ------------------
I was very pleased with this Trust USB hub. I thought it was very fairly priced, of a good quality and was overall very hard to fault. In my opinion the Trust EasyConnect IS actually easy and trustworthy! Therefore I would recommend the Trust EasyConnect to anyone.
