you get what you pay for and linux driver info
Advantages cheap, light, durable, fun, webcam and digicam
Disadvantages no flash, feels cheap, pictures of poor quality
I bought the spycam last year and it seems a good little purchase really. All i was after was a webcam but this was only £15 extra so i thought what the hell and bought it.
It takes pictures in resolutions going up to 640x480 and the quality is quite good in day light, but not good at all in the dark or in doors. Its internal memory holds a good few pictures and can even hold short animations, but cannot be upgraded and is lost if the batterys fail. This can be very annoying as the batterys do fail every few months if you use it regularly.
Its a cool little camera and was very popular with all my friend at uni and we had loads of fun with it at uni, but just remember your not buying a top class digi cam.As a webcam it performs well and gives a frame rate of between 15 frames per sec for 640x480 to 25 fps in lower resolutions which is fine for most people.
The camrea can take up to 15 secs of video at 640x480 which is a good little feature. The software supplied is very good and it integrates well into programmes like Paint Shop Pro. Also, it has drivers for most windows including 95, 89, 2000, ME, and XP. If you use Win2k I reccomend you try the XP drivers as there a little nicer and have a few extra features.
Oh, linux drivers are included in the latest version of the kernal and its detected automatically in all recent distros including Mandrake 8.1+

Sounds okay, although not the most easy to hide piece of equipment:) -Jon
