This Deskset was my first venture into the world of wireless computing and after years of cleaning out roller-balls and wire restrictions I was ready to take the plunge. To begin with, I hunted round online stores to see what was on offer, when suddenly I stumbled upon this little set; keyboard, mouse, optical, wireless...£21...perfect. After ordering, I went and picked up my purchase from a nearby Microdirect and returned home.
The combo was packaged nicely in a box with several compartments for each component, just your standard packaging. First I got out the keyboard and mouse, installed the batteries and lay it upon my computer desk...simple enough. This is where it gets a little trickier. I purchased this wirelessmouse and keyboardset when I got a new computer as I thought it would look smarter and more modern than the wire mouse and keyboard that came with it. I chose this set as I felt that Microsoft had a good reputation and, at £30, this represented good value for money.
This was easy to connect up with the computer, just a simple plug in to the front of the box. That was all that was required to install. The mouse and keyboard each take two batteries. I find that the batteries wear down really quickly. This is frustrating, especially when typing where letters can be missed out in your work, or quite often, the space bar won't function. The batteries in the mouse wear out especially quickly.
Having said that, this is the only flaw I can find with the product. The keyboard is comfortable to type ...
