Advantages: Looks the part Disadvantages: inferior quality fittings
...*THE PRODUCT*
Made by Hotpoint I believed the very attractive grey and anthracite colouring matched perfectly with my washer and blended in really well with my kitchen.
The capacity is upto 7kg and well suited to a home like mine with at least a couple of washings done each day. The tumble dryer was a god send in our rain drenched country, escpecially during the winter months.
The design is flawless and streamlined with a door hiding the usual ... ...the materials.
On phoning Hotpoint I was informed the design had been updated and therefor I would have to try the Internet and see if I could find the said part . My Tumble Dryer is around 14 months old and I believe the company have had similar problems to mine and discontinued the latch on my machine. No recall from them, no redress as my warranty had expired. That will teach me not extending the warranty!!

Review of Hotpoint TCM570G
Advantages: Load, Ease of use, Make Disadvantages: Expensive
...have recently bought a new Hotpoint washing machine in the grey/Silber colour and I have intentions of buying a fridge and freezer in the same colour I thought it would be a good idea to look at silver Hotpoint dryers. Dows to my local curry's store I headed and I was actually very surprised how many silver dryers where available. After spending lots of time reading and opening and closing the doors I decided on the rather fancy and expensive Hotpoint ... ...So what does the Hotpoint offer?
1~ An amazing 7kg load capacity which is just fantastic - This dryer can hold more washing that my actual washing machine so it's a case of all what fits in the washing machine can defiantly fit in the dryer. 2~ Condenser ~ As this is a condenser dryer it means you have no hose from it what you get is a water tank situated at the front (bottom) which will fill up during the drying process, A little indicator ...
Advantages: Quiet running, drys Quickly. Disadvantages: Pull open door.
...as a replacement for a Hotpoint condenser dryer (that I didn't like for several reasons), this vented model is equipped with every drying option anyone could need and is fully electronic with an array of buttons that light when pressed to show exactly what program has been set, there is also an LED "count-down timer" panel that lights up with orange numbers. The main feature of this dryer is the multi-level set and forget facility, simply load the ... ...is with the glass door, Hotpoint decided to make this a pull-open door rather than a catch/lever type, it works well but because the dryer is lightweight, it tends to move about when the door is pulled opened (it's best to use one hand on the machine to stop it moving), it may be okay on some floors but if you have slate as I have, it can be irritating. If you are about to buy a tumble dryer and can't decide whether to go for a vented or a condenser, ...
Advantages: Enormous drum Disadvantages: Door requires muscles to open
I originally chose this dryer because it was on offer, £160 at the time with free delivery. It was only after delivery that I looked at it more closely and appreciated some of the features. It is a standard size, white machine with a clear door so it is not outstanding in appearance.
The first thing that struck me was that the drum is huge, it swallows the 6kg recommended load easily, I must admit I am sure I frequently overload it but it still ... ...heats and these are changed by a simple button on the front. There is a cool cycle at the end of the drying time and there is also a reverse tumble action when th machine is working. I think these factors as well as the large drum are what contribute to the fact that it definately reduces the need for so much ironing. My previous tumble dryer was certainly not as good at providing crease-free clothes.
The timer can be set for up to 2 hours drying ...
Advantages: Gentle with clothes, good choice of options, takes a big load, looks good Disadvantages: drying times - Takes almost twice as long as my old vented dryer
This dryer replaced a basic dryer which had two controls. ON/OFF HIGH/LOW. The number of options available on this dryer was a little daunting at first but one soon gets used to it. The dryer looks nice, it seems to be very gentle with the clothes and they come out feeling very soft and smooth. Some items dont need ironing. So I like the overall performance and results, BUT....The downside of this dryer is the long drying times. I dont know if this ... ...to be almost twice as long as compared to my old dryer (vented). For example I dried a load of towels on the "bed and Bath" setting this would have taken around 1h 15m with my old dryer but on sensor dry it took 2h 10m with the new Hotpoint. I guess in time I will get used to this but at the moment its proving to be slightly fustrating. ...
