A good portable piece of kit

Advantages: plays all speeds and is easy to use
Disadvantages: Bulky and not very attractive/ sound quality if using built in speaker

I had been looking for something like this for a long time. I am a keen record collector and have travelled to the United States on many occasions to hunt for hidden treasures. On each trip, this little device has accompanied me. This device is self-sufficient. I must confess to not having used it battery operated so can't comment on that but from the mains it works well. Panasonic Technics MK5

Advantages: Many
Disadvantages: none

ION ITT USB TURNTABLE

Advantages: The easy way to transfer vinyl to cd or mp3
Disadvantages: expensive

Advantages: never misses a beat

Still the industry standard turntable?

Advantages: Excellent reliablity, accurate pitch control, nice feel to them
Disadvantages: Not so many features compared to newer decks, low pitch range

...I will mention, and what Technics are renound for, is their durability. My decks have been to parties, had drinks spilled on them, dropped, been in the back of transit vans, and they still work perfectly. There is no sign of damage to the tone arms, or in fact any other area of them. The lights on the platter still stay in perfect allignment at 33rpm, which shows that they still turn at precisely 33rpm. It's almost like you couldn't break them if ...
