Can Sony Pull It Off Advantages: Built-in equaliser amplifier Disadvantages: Havent found any yet! ...a local comet store, this sony psj20 seemed like a good deal for only 79.95. I told my dad to go with sony as they are well knowen for there exellent products and great value for money, everything I have bought with sony has been a great investment so I wasnt hessitant when we agreed on this one. Set up was a snap, I think even my 5 year old niece could have it, it was that easy. Features are good for a simple turntable, it comes with its own ... ...just a casual listener to your old vinyl records once in a while this is a must for you! Great quality for the Price, I Deffiently recommend this! And the answer is, YES! Not for DJing! Advantages: High quality sound. Anti-skating and tonearm weight preadjusted so no expertise needed. Disadvantages: Not for DJing ...not designed for that. The Technics SL-BD22 provides audiophile quality record playback for an extremely low price. I have used a lot of record players in the past and the quality of playback this provides is equivalent to other players that have cost £500+. A good portable piece of kit Advantages: plays all speeds and is easy to use Disadvantages: Bulky and not very attractive/ sound quality if using built in speaker I had been looking for something like this for a long time. I am a keen record collector and have travelled to the United States on many occasions to hunt for hidden treasures. On each trip, this little device has accompanied me. This device is self-sufficient. I must confess to not having used it battery operated so can't comment on that but from the mains it works well. It has a built in speaker and is already earthed so you don't need a hi-fi ... ...plug it in if you wish). This is obviously ideal for travel. The sound quality out of it's speaker is not great but depending on your requirements is ample. Word of warning: watch out that you have it turned to zero if you are plugging into a hi-fi otherwise you will get double playback. What I really like about this is that it can play all records speeds that means, whereas many other turntables on the market won't, this can play 78 RPM vinyl too. ... A smart gadget but let down but uneven sound quality Advantages: Simple to use Disadvantages: Bad sound quality at times I bought one of these turntables a while ago because it seemed ideal for me. You can plug it into your hi-fi in the same way you would a normal turntable but without the need for earthing it. This obviously is not it's main attraction. It also has a USB connection so you can plug it into your computer and record records from it. I have been collecting records for many years now of all shapes and sizes; 12", 10", 7", 45 rpm, 33 rpm, 78 rpm, etc... ... ...could record these and have them on my iPod as some tracks are still not available on CD or digital format. On the whole, this device does the job. It has 2 playing speeds that are the standard 33 rpm and 45 rpm. Sadly no 78 which is a shame but I suppose there is little call for it. It also comes with the small circular disc you can use for playing 45"s with the hole cut out of the middle. It came with some software for recording which was ample ... The bentley of the dj world Advantages: never misses a beat Disadvantages: nope, cant think of any! ...a beat aswell as the technics 1210, is durability is awesome aswell, ive had mine for 12 years and they havent needed a service, repair or anything go wrong with it. Choose between 33 and 45 rpm, the pitch control goes from -10 to +10 and moves very smoothly and easily. The arm is very nice and slips on the record with ease and has the weight on the back so you can adjust it accordingly to suit yourself. It comes with a pop up light so you can see ... ...the turntable. The sound quality is top notch aswell, with the right needles of course and it shows why all the clubs and pros have used it for many many years. The legs have great suspension so they wont feel the vibration in clubs or your bedroom so it never skips or misses a beat. Overall by far the best record player around,and has set the bar so high, no one has jumped it yet. ...
