Advantages: addictive, learning experience Disadvantages: annoying, songs too catchy
The Tweenies were introduced to under 5's a few years ago, and became very popular. Its an educational programme, but its done in a fun way. So, what are the Tweenies?

The Tweenies were introduced to under 5's a few years ago, and became very popular. Its an educational programme, but its done in a fun way. So, what are the Tweenies?
There's four Tweenie, Bella, Milo, Fizz and Jake. They are four large charatcers who represent children in a nursery. The padded suits are bright and colourful to capture a childs imagination.
Each episode starts with the theme tune, and then the four Tweenies sing a song. This can be a common nursery rhyme, or a song that is new to the child. Each song is accompanied by a dance and often there are actions to learn. As the Tweenies repeat each song, the child can join in even if the song is new to them. My favourites are 'Going to build a house', and 'Mousy Brown'. The actions are fun and the song is catchy.
A main part of the programme is the Tweenie's clock. They press a button in the middle and a section of the clock corrisponding to an activity lights up. The activities are:-
*story time:- The Tweenies sit down in the story corner and the adult Tweenie reads a story. Often the story has a moral, but they also read traditional fairy tales. The Tweenies comment through-out the story, and I think this encourages children to develop there own ideas and points of view.
*messy time:- the Tweenies make something. It can be painting, glueing etc. This is a great part iof the programme for giving parents ideas, as well as showing kids how to be creative.
*surprise time:- the whole clock flashes and anything can happen. the tweenies might get a treat, they could put on a show, you never can tell.
*song time:- as you probably have guessed, they sing a song. Catchy and fun, children will be sure to join in.
* TV time:- they watch something eductional on the screen and a voice over gives lots of information about that is going on. The Tweenies join in with their own thoughts, and this part is very realistic, almost like its a real child talking.
*news time:-here the Tweenies recap the days events, complete with their own opinions.
So, time to meet the Tweenies.
Bella- she's the oldest and she is very bossy. She likes to get her own way. Bella is blue with bright yellow hair. I really don't like Bella, but she is my daughters favourite.
Milo- He is the second oldest and is very rowdy and loud. He is quite annoying. He is the typical boy charater. Milo is purple with blue spiky hair.
Fizz- Fizz is very girly. She loves pink. She is sweet and kind and a bit of a peace maker. Fizz is yellow with brown beaded hair.
Jake- the baby of the group. He has a very young character, speaks like a young chil andn reasons like one too. He is likeable in a baby like way. Jake is orange with a yellow ohican.
The adults are Judy and Max. Max is the old greanddad figure, whikle Judy is young. This two keep the Tweenies in check, and keep the nursery running smoothly.
Doodles the dog is a huge character. he is old and set in his ways but loved by the Tweenies. He is my favourite character. He's red and yellow
Izzles is the new dog. She is purple and yellow, acts like a puppy and is very annoying.
Both dogs can talk.
So, do I like the Tweenies? No, I don't. But the songs are great and the Tweenies are educational. bella has taught my daughter how to be moody and stroppy. I think its the sort of programme that is okay from time to time. I watch it most days though, I work out to the songs.
You can find The Tweenies on BBC1, or alternatively on the CBeebies Channel which is available on Sky, Sky Digital (channel 617), Digital Veiwing Box (channel 31) and also on Cable. Tweenies have a lot of merchandise as well, available in most retail places. Play games, sing or colour in with the Tweenies at www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies and click on the link. Have fun!!
Advantages: Excellent when feeling suicidal. Disadvantages: It is still being shown
...it a go.
The Tweenies consist of Jake, Milo, Fizz, Bella and their dog Doodles and there recently seems to have been an addition to the canine side of the household in the shape of Izzles. The other characters in this show, for the more mentally deprived of Britains kids, are Max and Judy who apparently run the playgroup where the show is set. I have to say I have never seen a playgroup that looks like theirs. It is obviously one of those private ... ...is the smallest of the Tweenies but at about 5 foot 5 and only 3 years old he still he still rates as a BIG pain in the ass to me. He has the weirdest hairdo I have ever seen, a bright yellow mohican which David Beckham based his new image on. Apparently Victoria bought David the new Tweenies video and he mistook it for a documentary on good fashion sense. Easy mistake to make. Jake`s best mate is Milo but if he was REALLY that much of a friend he ...

Advantages: Combines education with fun. Disadvantages: Lots of expensive Tweenies products.
...or heard something of the Tweenies since they first exploded onto BBC1, in their green rocket ship, in 1999.
They first came to my attention during their advertising campaign prior to starting. Every time the trailer came on the television with these brightly coloured, dancing characters singing, what I now know to be, their theme tune, my son (who hadn't turned 1 year old then) instantly stopped whatever he was doing and sat transfixed to the television. ... ...Why are the Tweenies so much better than the Teletubbies? Well, don't get me wrong, I think the Teletubbies have their place, a bit of colour and silly antics for the very young, unfortunately covering up the very few educational aspects. The Tweenies however, in my opinion, have got it sussed, bumper-to-bumper fun and education all rolled into one!
The programme is based around a playgroup, with 2 adults, 4 pre-school children (how's that for adult-child ...

Advantages: exciting for young children Disadvantages: when the Tweenies' faces look weird
Tweenies is a kid’s programme for all ages. Max is the oldest Tweenie with Judy. They are the adults. Doodles is their dog. He can talk.
Jake is the youngest. He calls himself Dotman with Doodles, they go on adventures together. When Jake tells the others about his journeys, they don’t believe him, so he tries to prove they’re wrong.
Fizz is the second youngest. She is the neatest! She normally plays on her own or with Jake or ... ...should do. One of the Tweenies press the button in the middle of it and music comes out from it, then they say “Tweenie clock, where will it stop?” Then it stops first on Song Time, which they sing songs on that time. News Time is always last, because they say all the things that they have enjoyed and done. There is also Messy Time where they make things, Telly Time is when they watch a video about something they’ve been talking ...

Advantages: Keeps kid quiet, entertains them, educates them, amuses them Disadvantages: On every hour and repeated often
...mainly on BBC Choice the Tweenies is tailor made for children between the ages of 2 to 6. Why would I a grown man be writing about such a show? It is easy I have two kids aged 2 and 3 and this program is a godsend to me, keeping my kids amused countless times, when I needed a bit of piece.
For those of you who have managed not to hear about the Tweenies let me introduce them to you. In 1998 Chris Doyle thought up the idea of "Tweenies" along with ... ...to have worked with the Tweenies being able to cross the divide.
· ~Bella - Bella is nearly 5 years old. She is the tallest and the oldest Tweenie and is quite pleased about this fact. Her favourite colour is red and she is known to be a bit bossy! Bella has very yellow hair. I find her to be somewhat pushy. I can imagine her mother saying she was a proper little madam.
· ~Fizz - Fizz is 3 nearly 4 and her favourite colour is pink. She has the ...

My son who is four years old is a big fan of the Tweenies and is always very happy when I return from the shops with a copy of the Tweenies magazine.
If there is anyone out there who doesn't know who the Tweenies are, they are a group of four year old characters named Milo, Bella, Jake and Fizz. They belong to the same nursery group, They are supervised by two grown up characters called Max and Judy who help them out doing different activities during there stay at the Tweenie Nursery.
There is also two dogs called Doodles and Izzles who are pets at the nursery.
Not only does my son enjoy the programme but he also enjoys looking at the magazine and enjoys doing all the puzzles and enjoys getting the free gift, which is usually stuck on the front of the magazine.
The latest magazine he has is the Tweenies Special all about animals ...

THE TWEENIES!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I have been watching the Tweenies for the last 5 years as my youngest brother is a huge fan. After being driven mad by the ridiculous voices of the teletubbies and the repetitive storylines I was dreading having to sit through a similar programme. HOWEVER! The moment I sat down to watch the Tweenies with him I was hooked! To my great delight they actually spoke proper English and it seemed to be a very educational program but enjoyable to. I am going to break this review into sections to make it easier to read, so here we go?

Tweenies I bought a copy of this for work!
We are doing a project on old and new things at school. I bought this as it caught my eye in the magazine rack in tesco’s it has a bright lively cover. The special needs kids I work with like bright things and I wanted something that would catch and maybe hold their interests for 1 or 2 minutes,
This is a BBC magazine/comic about the tweenies, which is a TV programme. This is a programme I know some of my pupils are familiar with so the characters are ones they know.
. Let me introduce you to the Teenies fizz, Bella Milo Jake these are friendly lking characters looking like soft cuddly toy dolls (you can actually buy the dolls one of my pupils regularly brings hers to school.)
This comic has 24 pages on this magazine there is a free pair of maracas are quite good, each ...
