Advantages Singing and dancing and fun
Disadvantages None for kids
Yes, this is another of my re-writes, so I will be looking at your all to re-rate it if you have already read and so forth…
The Tweenies, the joy of all toddlers. All singing, all dancing, all fun. I guess if you have not yet got children or you are not under five then you wouldn’t understand.
Let’s introduce then all to you before we begin, hey?The Tweenies all play together in a playgroup run my Judy and Max – now Judy and Max might well be married, but he is quite older than her (perhaps he just looks old for his age). Whether anything contrary to this has been disclosed I know not. They now have two dogs that also dance and sing. These are Doodles and Izzles.
The Tweenies are:Bella – she is the older, bossier one.
Milo – he is fun and funny.
Fizz - she is cute and girly.
Jake – the youngest, a softie.
On Ceebeebees or Children’s BBC.
What fun things do they get up to, then?Well… When each programme begins (and during the course of each programme) one of the Tweenies will press the button of the ‘Tweenie Clock,’ calling out the words ‘Tweenie clock, where will it stop?’ This clock will then flash and dazzle and fall upon a word, such as Songtime, Messytime, Storytime.
The Tweenies will then go and do what the clock says. At the beginning this usually means a song and the four Tweenies will get up and sing ‘The wheels on the bus...’ or some other such musical classic. In each programme we find a running theme and like all good programmes for kids it shows the difference between right and wrong.
‘Tweenie clock where will it stop?’ Storytime. Time for a story, as you might well have gathered. The Tweenies sit around and listen while Max or Judy tells a tale, this story is usually related to what is happening to the Tweenies in the programme. Say, if one of the Tweenies is being selfish, the story will be about why it is not nice to be selfish…Out and about the Tweenies might well go during the programme, to look at how we can re-cycle waste or how cows are milked.
My daughter has loved the Tweenies since she was about one (she is now three – almost). They are fun and filled with bright colours. A little like cuddly alien creatures, they are friendly looking and ideal for children.
They have been around for quite a while now, and have spawned much merchandise – you can have Tweenie pyjamas, Tweenie plates, Tweenie games… etc.Overall, I recommend them – there is little here to give your toddler nightmares and there is enough to show them the difference between right and wrong. It is a fun programme and kids can learn things from it too.

My daughter used to love this show, and she had the soft toys as well.
