Twinings and tea are inseparable. Many happy customers from around the world know that Twinings is tea.
For ten generations Twinings have been at the top of the tea trade and have influenced the tea drinking habits worldwide. The company that first spotted the potential of tea 300 years ago continues to develop to this very day.

HERES SOME HISTORY.

Thomas Twining learnt about the new oriental beverages from an East India company merchant. Thomas was fascinated by the possibilities of the new drinks. He learned well and quickly. In 1706 he bought Toms coffee house in Londons Strand and used his knowledge in his own business. Coffee houses became a popular feature in London. Concentrating on tea was no gimmick. Thomas knew it was a drink with great potential. Tea became increasingly fashionable during the early eighteenth century. The rich couldnt get enough of it.Soon Thomas was selling more dry tea than wet. He even sold it to competing coffee houses.Thomas Twining was fast building a reputation for selling only the finest teas- teas that well heeled London ladies wanted to serve in their drawing rooms.
By the time of his death in 1741,Thomas twinings was serving customers with royal connections and living the life of a successful businessman. His son Daniel began exporting to America, but died prematurely. It was left to Daniels second wife, Mary to steer the family business and raise the next generation.
Twinings was probably the first dry tea and coffee shop. Customers in more than 100 countries enjoy Twinings products and not just the popular favourites - products such as fruit and herbal infusions, aromatic teas and ice teas are delighting the taste buds of a new generation of customers. These fresh flavours reflect a worldwide trend towards a healthier more varied lifestyle. After quenching the thirsts for so many generations,no one knows better than Twinings how to deliver a drink thats in perfect condition.

Camaomile is known for its relaxing and calming effects. The camomile in Twinings Organic infusion is taken from only the finest matricaria flowers of organically grown camomile plants.

I have never been one to try herbal teas but saw this while out shopping and gave it a try. We always have a pack in our cupboards now as it is good stress relief, especially when you have two children!! I thought that it had a lovely light comforting taste and helped me to unwind. I expect it would be nice to drink before bed to help you sleep.

SERVING SUGGESTION.

Add boiling water to bag and leave to infuse for 3 - 5 minutes. Add honey to sweeten if you prefer. You do not add milk to this.

The packs have 20 teabags in and cost about 80p from asda which is where i got them from. Not a bad price at all. Great buy. They really do make you feel better!
