I better go make another mug now as mine has gone cold!
I have just made myself a cup of tea and decided to sit down and write another product review for Ciao. I couldn't decide what to write about…..
That was until I took another sip of my hot cuppa! It tasted of perfection. I knew it was now destiny to have to write about my cup of tea! Let's hope I can write this review before it goes cold eh!
Here goes…..
**Health Benefits & Reasons To Drink Tea**
I will not bore you with loads of facts about tea. You can find this information yourself by just typing 'tea facts' into www.google.co.uk. I will however tell you a brief overview of the health benefits of what you are to about drink!
Tea is….
….Low in calorie's so is a perfect beverage for anyone watching their weight (This is before any sugar is added)!
….Perfect to replace fluid lost throughout the day, it is recommended we drink at least 1.5 litres a day so if you have a brew, several times a day it helps to maintain these levels.
….Contains natural amounts of fluoride so will aid the health of our teeth!
….Full of antioxidants - these antioxidants will help reduce the risk of many diseases such as heart disease, cancer and can also aid the repair of your skin. Clearly it in turn, benefits the anti-ageing process, so over time will help those little wrinkles we all end up getting! (This is not, by any means any sort of medical advice so if you feel a heart attack coming on don't just drink a cup of tea, ring 999!).
….Very refreshing. You can just sit down for 5 minutes, drink a hot cup of these specially brewed tea leaves and you will feel 10 times more refreshed.
….Perfect for a slight energy boost, containing mild amounts of caffeine this can help lift your mood and energy levels. (Obviously you would be better off getting enough sleep in the long run). It is also great to have a nice cup in the morning, with the small caffeine amounts it contains you will get a small 'pick me up' from a nicely brewed cup.
**History**
Supposedly the originating country that founded 'Tea' was China. There are so many legends about nowadays as to how it was founded. Many mythologists tend to stick with this particular legend dating as far back as 2737BC;
Emperor Shen Nung
Shen Nung (A Chinese emperor/scientist) was about to drink some hot water that was being boiled in a pan. A couple of leaves blew into this pan from a bush or tree that was nearby. After allowing these leaves to infuse in the hot water, he went on to taste this 'by chance' infusion and with realising how refreshing it was, he decided to ultimately spread the word about.
After many years, 'Tea' consumption went on to spread throughout the Chinese population. It reached into every single aspect of society and daily life (as it was back then)….. After many many years (Early 17th century) of 'Tea' spreading throughout the different continents worldwide, it hit what is now Europe, and surprisingly wasn't an instant success.
England
'Tea' was initially drunk by Royalty and wasn't actually traded in this country until 1652. The English population weren't totally convinced about this beverage to begin with - they preferred coffee. It was only after the whole 'classy stigma' that was attached to the Royals; that the English population started to drink it. It is from here that we have come to love 'Tea' with such a passion.
**Twinings & The "Everyday Teabag"**
This brings me to 'Twinings'. This is a company that for over 300 years have been providing the world market with all sorts of different, specialist type 'Teas' for every individual taste bud yearning for something that little bit different.
'Twinings' offer an extensive range of teas including: herbal teas, breakfast teas, afternoon teas, after-dinner teas, evening teas, night teas and even elevenses teas!
Whatever next….. ?
Well as agreed by most, the very long overdue Twinings - 'Everyday Tea' is what consumer demand has been calling for.
After many years… this well established company has finally listened to us, "the consumer", to bring us an 'ordinary tea', but which is like no other ordinary brand!
This 'Tea' is sheer heaven in a mug! It's not like the herbal, scented or even smoky type tea's Twinings is famous for. It is a normal every day 'Tea'. Very simple an idea but it's taken a long time to produce.
"Refreshing and full of flavour, it's an every day tea that's extraordinarily good".
This is the description "Twinings" use themselves to describe the taste; to be honest, I cannot add a huge deal more to this, to describe the little luxury in a mug any better than they have done.
I can say it has a much rounder taste to it and with a splash of milk it makes for a relaxing moment anytime or any place. It is a mild flavour and brews very quickly, on average 30-60 seconds, but again, this is all dependant on your preferred taste.
It is a very light coloured tea once made and is very smooth to drink. It offers a noticeably creamier taste than most other tea bag brands. So is ideal for a person who enjoys weaker tasting tea.
**Packaging**
Being sold in boxes of 40, 80 or 160 teabags you cannot miss the distinct packaging on the shop shelving. A bright yellow box with a gold band running horizontally across it displays the brand name of 'Twinings'. The image of a cup of tea being poured straight from the teapot on the front cover is enough to get your mouth watering. I am proud to display my box of 80 teabags to the world…. Yes I am a tea snob!
**Cost**
Available now nationwide you can pick up a box at any supermarket chain store.
Asda sells these in boxes of:
80 Teabags - 250g for £1.43 160 Teabags - 500g for £2.73
Advantages: Delicious and refreshing Disadvantages: perhaps a tad expensive
...love my brand of tea, Twinings Everyday Tea. I love it so much that I do indeed drink it everyday and at any time of the day. So really it is what it claims to be.
So why do I love it so much? Well simply because it is delicious and refreshing and each tea bag makes a consistantly good cup of tea. Other brands have produced great cups of tea and not so great cups and you were never quite sure which you would get but this never fails to hit the spot ... ...Twinings has always represented good quality fine teas to me I am sure that it is a blend of only the finest teas. Unfortunately I cannot ascertain what they are from the box or the website and should imagine that the blend is quite a closely guarded secret. But no matter as the important thing for me is the taste and the overall experience of drinking it.
I am quite picky about my tea and how it is prepared. Whether it is the right way or not I ...

Advantages: Tasty and refreshing Disadvantages: none unless your a coffee drinker.
I used to be a confirmed coffee drinker until I invested in a Brita’s water filter, living in a hard water area made tea drinking not as enjoyable as it is now. Although I prefer coffee in the mornings I find that drinking too many cups of coffee affects my sleep at night. Not being able to settle easy has made me now drink more cups of tea, especially now I can appreciate the refreshing tastes of various different tea brands.
One of my all time ... ...bags as although making tea in a pot with the loose tea leaves is a bit of a nice thing to do and it’s nice to serve a good cup of tea made properly, I find that the mess at washing up time out weights the effort of making a good brew. So, now I just use tea bags. Twinnings is a good brand of tea, with years of tea making experience, not only do they now do everyday tea’s but they have lots of other flavours to choose from, but that’s for a different ...

*** The company***
Twinings has been going for about 300 years. They are well known for there specialist teas, mostly from the Indian Continent. We have all heard of Darjeeling, Earl grey which is aromatic, as a well as Lapsang Souchong and the like. They do an Afternoon ... ...to name only a few. Twinings also do Organic and Decaffeinated tea. The list is endless . Twinings was founded by Thomas Twining in 1706 at 216 The Strand And they still trade from this address today. During the Blitz on London a bomb hit the building but within hours a trestle was set up and tea sales carried on.

Advantages: A straightforward, great-tasting black tea Disadvantages: Like most black teas, contains caffeine and can be addictive
Twinings took a massive risk calling this tea Everyday. If it wasn't for the clever packaging and the advertising campaign, this tea could easily be regarded as a 'value' product based on just the name. By value, I mean cheap and nasty, which this tea certainly isn't. Instead, Everyday refers to the fact that this tea is a no-frills, no-fuss, straightforward black tea, so good that you will want to drink it every day. Previously, I've known Twinings ... ...Tetley.
The Price
-------------
Twinings Everyday tea bags come in box sizes of 40, 80 or 160. A quick comparison of current Tesco prices reveals that Twining's Everyday teabags are quite a bit more expensive than similar products by their competitors. A box of 160 Everyday teabags is priced at £3.89 compared to £2.88- £2.99 for the same amount of Tetley, Typhoo, PG and Tesco's Finest teabags. Does this mean that Twinings Everyday tea is that ...
