Twister is a great party game that has been around since the year dot. It uses a simple concept to provide a game that concentrates on co-ordination and balance. It is an energetic game that will ‘twist’ your body.
The game
The idea is simple. On a board that is placed on the floor and is about 8 foot square, there are rows of four different colours. The players (I would say minimum two but maximum four) start on opposite sides of the board. Someone then spins a spinner; this spinner indicates a colour and an appendage. i.e. it may say Green and Right Hand. Every player must then place his or her right hand on green.
There are limited ‘greens’ available and this can make the game difficult as you twist and contort to try and put your left leg on blue, your right arm on green, your right leg on red etc! This can obviously be difficult if you are crossing your legs and reaching behind you at the same time! Once you fall over you are eliminated.
The fun
This is a great game for children and is perfect for parties. Your children will be constantly laughing through this game. Additionally this game is fun for adults although your bones will soon creak loudly. After a few drinks it can be even more fun as your co-ordination is not so good and as you try and use everyone else to stay upright; it really becomes a good icebreaker!
Conclusion
This game is simple to setup and play and can provide endless fun for children and adults. There should be a health warning for adults though as our bones and limbs are not as limber as they once were!

I like this game and it's funny when mum and dad play because they normally fall over.
