Great for outdoor activities

Advantages: Easy to use, inexpensive, very useful, great for emergencies
Disadvantages: Better battery life would be welcome, as would improved range in hilly environments

I just spent a week using Talkr T5s whilst on a skiing holiday in France. They were used to stay in contact with my friends on the mountain, and also carried in case of emergency. Handset range is very much dependant on conditions. Whilst the 6km maximum range can be achived, in practice this was often greatly less if there is something large between the transmitter and reciever. Typically reception was good if my friends were on the same side of ...
...valley then we got no reception at all. The sub-channel system works well, and means that you have much more chance of finding a channel that no-one else is using. We used channel 7-13, which meant that we could only hear channel 7-13, and only people using either 7-13 or the whole 7 channel could listen in. Broadcast quality varies, but is roughly landline phone quality assuming that you are "in range". The handsets are easy to use, especially ...

the best walkie talkies in the world

Advantages: rechargable, small
Disadvantages: none!

i brought this product a few months ago from argos for £19.99 which was a fair price for these walkie talkies. when i opened the box i was expecting a plasticy cheap product, but insted i was suprised to see a nice looking set of walkie talkies that looked high quality for the price. i was also suprised to notice the range of coverage was really good as it can reach up to 2 miles depending on the land, i found this particulaurly interesting talkin ...

Roger and out

Advantages: Useful littles devices
Disadvantages: none as of yet

...Such an item is the Binatone Latitude which I purchased for £12.99, batteries not included, but acquired quite cheaply from my favourite Poundland. Three AAA batteries are required for each unit and they are easily installed after the removal of the rather large securing screw which holds the backing plate to the main unit. Thereupon the orientation and placement is as per the neat diagram on the inner face of the unit. The replacing of the back ...
...even remotely intend to be submerged for long enough to verify the manufacturer's statement. Batteries in and the rest is pretty simple really. On the front of the units there is the power on button, which when pressed for a few seconds powers up the unit. The small LCD screen will light and display the current battery power by means of a small 4 bar graph at the bottom of the screen. To the right of this and looking extremely similar is the volume ...

Bt digital baby monitor plus

Advantages: Lullaby's, Intercom
Disadvantages: Battery life is not very good, night light feature also a little poor

I brought the BT Digital Baby Monitor Plus about two years ago from Argos priced £69.79. I have had other baby monitors in the past but this design is by far the best as it has many useful functions. It is quite pricey but you will not be disappointed once you have it, mine is on all day everyday. The monitor comes as two separate unit’s the larger one is for the nursery ideally near the cot and the parent handset which I keep down stairs. Both ...
...never had a problem with it. It was extremely useful when my child was newborn because it has lullabies and intercom. I would recommend this monitor to other parents but if they can’t afford I would recommend the lower spec model Bt digital baby monitor which sells for about £49.99. ...

Makes life easier!

Advantages: Easy to use, very clear
Disadvantages: quite expensive

These things are genius. Like all new parents we wanted something to monitor our baby when we had put them down to sleep and to be confident that they were ok. This is it. The signal is wonderfully strong giving very clear sound reproduction of what your baby is up to. we can hear the slightest squeak out of him! you can also change the volume sensitivity if you only want to hear a cry and not just the squeaking! The temperature in the room where ...
...and the monitor. You can tell the transmitter to play music from the monitor and can even hook your ipod up to it to play babies favourite tunes. The monitor also allows you to record a message of your voice. You can also talk betwene the monitor and the transmitter, and the monitor also features a torch. The Monitor charges off the mains and lasts about 10 hours between charges. Absolutely great and it does not interfere with other wireless devices ...
