My brother took my daughter out to Crealy for the day and when she came home she was carrying this pirate George Pig beanie baby. Apparently she wouldn’t leave the gift shop at Crealy until her uncle bought her this teddy, no surprises there!
The beanie baby cost around £6 last summer, from a big attractions gift shop I think this is quite a reasonable price to pay as usually they bump the prices up, trying to squeeze every penny they can out of you. It’s also available to buy from the usual places like Amazon.
Pirate George is quite small, at around 5 inches high he’s roughly the same size as most other beanie babies. He is totally in proportion and looks like what George looks like on the Peppa Pig television show. The only difference is the stripy blue and white outfit instead of the entire blue one he wears on the show. George is also sporting a pirate hat, eye patch and in his right hand he holds a telescope. The telescope hasn’t been well made, to get George to look through the telescope you have to really pull the two together and the telescope only just reaches George’s eye, and even then the telescope only points to the ground which is a little disappointing.
George has the same fantastic quality as most other beanie babies from TY. He is well made and still in an excellent condition despite having him around a year. If he gets a little grubby I tend to just sponge wash him, the care instructions on the label says he is only suitable for a hand wash.
This beanie baby George pig has a spiral tail like you would expect from a pig. My daughter likes to carry him around by his tail so it doesn’t spring back into the spiral that it did originally so it does make him look a bit funny for a pig now. George is used as my daughter dolly teddy, when she takes her dolly for a walk in the pushchair, George has to go too, this is mega cute! For a soft toy, George does get played with more than what I thought he would, he is used in tea parties, in the pram and to just snuggle up with to watch television.
I think £6 is a good price for this TY beanie baby pirate George. He resembles George from the Peppa Pig television program well, he’s cute, cuddly and well played with by my daughter. He is definitely recommended by us despite the telescope being designed poorly.
