Once you have decided what course you want to do, the UCAS handbook is an excellent source to chose which course to do and where, and it especially comes in handy when you are applying for a University place.

It lists the institutions across the country, and the courses they offer. This way you can find out which Universities offer which courses.

However they do not list the entry requirements, just which course they offer, you can check what the entry requirements are by looking at the Universities own prospectus. This handbook simply gives you a detailed comprehensive guide at what Universities offer.

When you are in College or sixth form, they give you this handbook for free, as it lists around 260 different Universities. They likes you to have atleast six institutions on your Ucas form, so this book helps you to look around for institutions that offer the course you want.

I found this handbook very helpful, and if you follow the procedure you will find you have no problems, once you have chosen which course to study where, you will have to enter the code of your chosen university, There is a website you can visit and it gives you just as good a guide as in the book.

You can get help from teachers and other people who have gone through the process of selecting universities. Don’t be afraid to ask.
